Publisher's summary

Savannah St. Claire grew up in a town where she was constantly bullied. Her only friends were brothers Billy and Travis Blue. The three of them were inseparable.

Billy Blue joined the Army when he turned 18 and was deployed to Afghanistan soon after. Four years later, Billy returns home and things are forever changed for this man who heroically fought for his country. He not only has to overcome his physical limitations, but he must confront his feelings for Savannah. With his confidence broken, he comes to the realization that there could be no way she would ever love him enough to look past the scars he possesses both inside and out.

What happens when two brothers love the same woman? Can broken hearts be mended? Will true love prevail above all else?

Compelling yet not to heavy

I really enjoyed this book. This was a different book by Nicole Garcia than what I am used to. The characters felt more real. Not that they don't normally, but I really felt like so many soldiers and families could identify with the characters. I thought she did a great job of bringing the seriousness of veterans, military families, and what they face, into a sweet love story. It wasn't overly intense and she doesn't beat you over the head with it, but makes you think about the real life lives of these people. Great job. And, of course the narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross was wonderful. This is nice, sweet, short read that doesn't disappoint. I was provided this audiobook as an ARC.

Love Triangle in the works

This story really has three main characters Savannah, Travis and Billy. These three have grown up together, but only two can be together. Will she pick the brother who loved her and left her behind or the one who picked up the pieces and held her together? Great story Nicole!!!

Gotta love a wounded warrior

How can you not love a guy named Billy Blue?
Billy Blue joined the Army right out of high school and, when he was deployed, broke up with his HS sweetheart, Savannah St. Claire. Savannah has loved Billy Blue since she was a little girl and she was heart broken when Billy broke up with her before he left. She was devastated when all of her letters to him were returned unopened. That was 4 yrs ago and she still can't process that the boy who protected her from bullies in school would deliberately hurt her. Meanwhile, Billy's older brother, Travis, has been her rock! If only she could feel for him what she still feels for Billy. When Savannah agrees to attend a bonfire, the last person that she expects to see is Billy!
Billy was injured towards the end of his tour and has returned home with a medical discharge. He feels broken and scarred and unworthy of the beautiful Savannah. He knows that he was the one that let her go, but he still is not happy to see Savannah with his brother. Can he really live around them if they're together?
Can Savannah prove to Billy that his scars mean nothing to her and that he still has her heart or will the stubborn Billy give up?
This was a quick read/listen about a wounded warrior who did not believe that anyone could love him with his battle scars...personally, I think that scars are sexy...they prove that you fought and survived! Great job by the narration team!

Military second chance love

The story is quick but full and realistic. If it was longer 5hen I would love to hear more off the emotions involved in military personnel’s re-entry into their old lives once returning home from active service abroad. Love dual narration and Wen and Kai were amazing as Savannah and Billy and I really enjoyed this audiobook because of it.

I had been gifted this audiobook such a long while ago by the author and hadn’t gotten to it until now. Nicole you are a wonderful author and this story was realistic and detailed and I loved it!

A great book if you just want a romance without a lot of steamy sex scenes.
