About this listen

I just became widowed and was relocated. Zombies are real, and there have been multiple assassination attempts. Now, I’m potentially on a quest to find a comics guy to get a map to a magical tea shop. My life is just getting better and better.

The government triggered a gene that awoke magic in a subset of humans in their attempt to create an army. They forgot we were raised on stories of superheroes and magicians, and we know that with our powers come responsibilities and the free will to not be used in a war where no one but the already rich and powerful can win.

Kaitlyn just wanted to keep her head down and do her job. She didn't want to be noticed. Notice would mean attention from Harbinger, and that is the one thing she doesn't need. The epileptic siphon doesn't have a choice, however. Her world is turned upside down at age 34 when she's forced to all but murder her assigned-husband for treason.

Add in an evil government agency creating zombies to take out magic, and Kaitlyn must become more than she's ever wanted to be. To lure the siphon out of hiding, the government kidnaps her childhood best friend, the most powerful electric mage ever registered. If she can save the storm mage, together they might have enough power to change the world. There are only 2000 miles, a magic dead zone, zombies, and two different agencies standing in her way. Forget the Kool-Aid. Don't drink the water.

Fantastic story

The voice actress was awesome! Her pacing and voice changers were so good. She made the story easy to follow.

The book itself was really good. Fantastic world building and use of magic. The plot was good and enjoyable. I look forward to more in the series

Magical Listening Experience

The story was cleverly crafted, moving at a pace that was easy to get lost in. The narration fit perfectly—I had no trouble differentiating which characters were speaking, and easily followed the story across the country and back, feeling all of the feels—heartache, frustration, fear, love, rage, triumph….as I got swept up in the journey of Saving the Storm Mage—awesome read!
