Addicting!!

I binged on this series all day, and it was such a addicting read. The story takes place in New Orleans and I can’t think of a better place for the book to take place. It was wonderful being able to get lost in the world of NOLA with the descriptions of the places the characters visited. There are a lot of things at play in this book and different paranormal groups wants to play a bid at running the city. It’s hard to see who can be trusted and who are the villains.
The characters are captivating, especially Augustine. I loved his character! We meet Harlow, which I wasn’t a big fan of her. She is selfish and comes off as a brat at the the beginning but midway through the book her character matures. I really enjoyed the story telling. It was captivating, mysterious, and I loved the fighting scenes.
I listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend. The narrator did a wonderful job portraying all of the characters. It was easy to follow along and the voices were distinguished and unique to tell which character was speaking. Truly brought the book alive for me.

This book needs nothing... I can say it maybe my new favorite book!! The voice actor is new to me and I can see me looking for more of his work..

Interesting story. New series for me.

Enjoyed the story, but felt like I was left hanging at the end with the father.

I Can't wait for the next book

Would you listen to House of the Rising Sun again? Why?

Yes, I enjoyed the story and the narrator

What does Elijah Alexander bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice is deep and sexy, it maid me fall in love with the male character, but he didn't trash the voices of the female characters, while doing it.

Could have been better

This book was well written but it lacked chemistry and charisma. I also felt as though the author made a bad choice by setting it in 2068. There wasn't much in the story to sell it as a futuristic novel.

This one has potential.

I really enjoyed it overall. It was a little slow for me. However, the story line was developing and the slow discussions were still helpful for the story. I really enjoyed the narration on this book.

House of the rising sun

Great new spin on the paranormal. Narration by a male for so many female voices was sometimes distracting but other than that I thought it has all the makings of a great new series by a great author we all love. 😉I hope you enjoy it!!!!

Giving it time.

I had a lot of hate for Harlow. A lot. She was so totally obsessed with her father for about 85% of the book. To the point where she honestly made you want to strangle her. More important stuff was going on around her and all she thought was that her mother was a bitch who hid her father from her and that life would've been better had she known him. She didn't consider anyone else's feelings or thoughts and I had a lot of trouble getting past it. I liked just about every other character but her. It does get better and Augie is awesome. Not to mention Lali, the absolute gem. But I still dislike Harlow.
