Publisher's summary

Life on the prairie has never been easy, but now Oestend itself seems bent on destruction.

Banished from the BarChi by the man he loves, Dante Pane must find a way to heal his broken heart while homesteading a new ranch. Unable to love women, afraid to love men, Dante wants only to find some peace. But peace is hard to come by in Oestend.

Ranch hands Simon and Frances came to Dante’s ranch to help him rebuild, but they’re beginning to think the place is cursed. Every building reeks of death, and strange occurrences plague the land - dead animals, unnatural weather, and voices riding wind. The men hate to return to the BarChi in defeat, but it’s the only place unaffected by whatever sickness has taken hold of the prairie.

While Simon struggles with the ghosts of his past and the nature of his partnership with Frances, Dante must convince Deacon and Aren to trust him again, because there’s more at stake than his ranch. Oestend is in trouble, and it will take all of them working together to set things right.

This title was previously published by Total-E-Bound. The overall story remains unchanged, but with revisions to the Simon and Frances storyline.

Great 2nd book!!

I really enjoyed the story in this series, the Author really did a great job with the books. I can’t give it 5 stars that it deserves with John Solo reading it. For me he is not a narrator, he is a reader of a book and ruins so many good books IMO. The story and characters are 5 star. I would definitely recommend listening to this series of books.

Fantastic Story, Marvelous Performance by Solo

Fantastic!

Wow, I'm so glad I finally got around to listening to this one. It was great to see Dante find his happily ever after... and what a perfect way to do it!

Very exciting twists and turns in the plot, with all the magic and mysticism I could have hoped for. Marie Sexton has a wonderful imagination.

Audio beautifully performed by John Solo... complete with singing!

Amazing!

I have to say this was the most unexpected book I've ever read. Nothing of what I thought was gonna happen, happened.
It was GREAT!
Loved it so much. So different and unexpected.
I won't give out names of anything that immediately would mess things up for many, but let me just say, how it all happened made sense, I’m happy with the ending and extremely happy by the development of this story.
Just know that now, I love Dante and Frances DEEPLY.
I never thought I would like the whole, folks tales, wraths, no-cellphone era kinda book. But this author is too great to not make any book completely amazing.

I'm happy all the books I've been reading lately have been great, makes me all happy inside.

Listened to it on audiobook and it was even better than I could’ve hoped for!
