About this listen

An unexpected inheritance. An unknown future. An unending love.

Determined to tame her younger brother's rebellious streak, McKenna Ashford accepts her cousin's invitation to move west and to begin again. But she quickly discovers that life in Copper Creek, Colorado, is far from what she expected. Shouldering burdens beyond her years, McKenna tries to be the parent Robert needs instead of the older sister he resents. But an "untimely inheritance" challenges her resolve at every turn, while also offering a second chance to restore her sense of trust - and perhaps even her heart.

US Marshal Wyatt Caradon is dedicated to bringing fugitives to justice, yet years of living on the trail have taken their toll. When his path intersects with that of McKenna, he comes face-to-face with a past he never wanted to relive - and the one woman who can help him find the future for which he's been longing.

As McKenna struggles to let go of her independence and Wyatt considers opening his heart again, they discover an inheritance beyond imagination. But it will come at a price.

I enjoyed the growth of the characters and how the author shares her Christian faith throughout the story and author's note.

Brokenness & Gods faithfulness

The truth of Gods faithfulness! I love Tamera’s books. She goes deeper than most in Christian fiction!

Sweet, evocative, Compelling

This was a sweet story that spoke to love in its capacity for family, friendship, and romance. The story was compelling, although a bit sad at some points. Trigger warnings for topics such as incarceration, adoption, and death.
The narrator gave a wonderful performance but unfortunately, the voice of the Love Interest sounded so old that it made the character seem much less attractive in my opinion.
Overall, I would recommend this book as one of Alexander’s better story’s.

The story shows us people can change

The main characters warmed me. There was a “snake in the grass” who was uncovered.
I didn’t want to put the book down

These are some of the BEST novels!

I’m so happy to have found this author! As a Bible student myself I appreciate the occasional verse(s) thread throughout the books. The storyline was excellent and the narrator a good reader, though didn’t try to do voices, except for the little girl.
The only thing that made me sad was that our loving Father and Creator is thought to cause problems that then need to be bound up by him. Think of it this way… would a loving mother or father need to break their child’s leg and then bind it up to show that they love their child? If you read the Bible book of Job you find out that the bad things that happen are due God’s adversary and also because of our own imperfections, as well as the imperfections and evil tendencies of others. (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
I am so grateful for the beautiful promise, to those with an earthly hope which Jesus told the man beside him on the stake about. While the inheritance spoken of in this book is a reminder to those that have a heavenly hope, which is a remnant or little flock, so a small number in comparison with the great crowd that will inherit the earth. (Psalm 35:10, 11) And regardless of our reward Revelations 21:3-5 is something we can definitely look forward to! Have you ever wondered: Why does God allow suffering? Does he cause suffering and death? Is there hope for mankind and our future? What is the theme of the Bible? How does Jesus death cover our sins? All of these answers and more can be found at jw.org in the book “Enjoy Life Forever”.

Not a Typical Inheritance

A young woman left raising her brother moved to Colorado to live with her lifelong friend, only to find everything more difficult than she could have imagined. It’s a good storyline with well-developed characters. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of the author’s works.
