Loved this!!!

I loved this book so very much. I am an avid hiker and take my Lab with me on section hikes and backpacking. I like to think she is as smart as Rush! It had me laughing and crying. Such a good listen!

Creative tale!

I always like to choose books that a turn and make my smile and this story did just that. I didn’t care for the narration at first, but then as the story progressed, so did the narration which helped me get lost in the adventure.

I highly recommend this listen for anyone, especially if you love hiking and dogs!

Great listen

I thought this book was awesome. I am a dayhiker, who hikes with my shepherd. At first I didn't like the retelling of the story with from a different perspective, but either the telling got better, or I adapted. I liked hearing about some of the places I have hiked to, as well as the general story. I never leave reviews, but this book hit home in a lot of ways.

Excellent Story, especially if you’re a hiker or a fan of adventure

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who hikes or has an interest in learning more about the hiking world as well as those just looking for a fun quick read. The author provided a good tutorial about the hiking world and lingo which I found very interesting and helpful with understanding their adventure. The interaction between dad and dog provided two unique perspectives on what was happening through man and canine eyes and ears (and other senses). I enjoyed the sense of humor that the author exhibited between both main characters and the details of their journey. The chase was exciting and the ending was just that and more (don’t want to provide any spoilers). Looking forward to reading more from this author in the near future!

Be prepared for a dramatic plot pivot!

Lee Lovelace’s book, Sawyer’s Run, is as much a vacation as an exciting read. A complete hiking novice, I found myself ambling along with Dad and Sawyer on the sumptuous Appalachian Trail. We met some cool people at Trail Magic. Interesting conversations; canine insights. Life was a lovely spring holiday. Then suddenly, yikes! The story turned into nailbiter of the oh-crap-did-that really-just-happen genre. No spoilers here but do be prepared for a dramatic plot pivot.
The underlying theme, not surprisingly, is the unique and powerful relationship shared by a dog and his humans. You don’t need to be a dog fancier to enjoy Sawyer’s Run, but you might be when you finish the book. An added treat is Jack de Golia’s superb narration, shuttling fluidly among characters and adventures. Only thing I didn't like about the book was that it ended. I miss my hiking partners. Really hope Lovelace is working on a sequel. If so, sign me up for the next adventure.

Nail biting adventure!

The adventure begins with a man and his dog planning on exploring the Appalachian Trail. However, they encounter a Ranger who does not play by the rules. Their only option is to stay off his radar if they want to live.

Sawyer’s Run is an awesome listen. The author did a great job writing this tale full of emotion and thrills. You are engulfed with the setting and get enough information to be knowledgeable about what is happening. I personally am not usually a fan of hiking, but this is written and told in a way that grabbed me from the beginning and left me wanting more when it finished. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this narrated by Jack de Golia. He did a great job narrating this story. I find his ability to use rich voices that command your attention helps keep the story moving along and keeping the attention of the listener.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook, it was clear and well produced.

Fantastic furry fun!

I've never met Rush or Momo, but feel a deep kinship with them both. I haven't enjoyed a book about a K-9 adventure this much since "Call of the wild". This story was very well written and narrated expertly. Well done! *****
