About this listen
With no time to spare, American forces must remobilize to locate and neutralize the underground laboratory where a lethal super-virus is ready to be unleashed. But an eleventh-hour disaster thrusts the entire mission into the hands of two Air Force comrades, Colonel Will Westerman and Reserve Colonel-turned-commercial pilot Doug Harris. Flying into the heart of Iraqi power, they must depend on both their skills and each other as never before in order to complete a mission that may be a suicide run.

Story
Over the Atlantic in the dark of night, the electronic brain of Pangia Airlines Flight 10 quietly and without warning disconnects all the cockpit controls and reverses course on its own. The crew of the huge Airbus 330 at first senses nothing, the flight displays still showing them on course to New York. But with puzzled passengers reporting stars on the wrong side—not to mention armed fighters pulling alongside to force them to land—the confused pilots discover that Flight 10 is streaking back toward the hyper-volatile Middle East, and there is nothing they can do about it.

The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

A powerhouse fusion of pathos and humor, brutal realism and intimate reflection, Flying Through Midnight is a landmark contribution to Vietnam War literature, revealing previously top-secret intelligence on the 606's night missions. Fast-paced, thrilling, and bitingly intelligent, Halliday's writing illuminates it all: the heart-pounding air battles, the close friendships, the crippling fear, and the astonishing final escape that made the telling of it possible.

Thank you
It is refreshing to listen to a book like this knowing that these types of circumstances can promote horrible language from characters, and yet the author was able to create the seriousness of the scenes without it. Thank you to a great author who made this book appropriate for teens without taking out the gravity of what war looks like.

I found myself standing and cheering at the end. The work shows what our pilots go through to accomplish the mission. I hate that the scientist died at the end. Will the last canister be found and recognized? Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was fully engaged.
