Publisher's summary

Scream of Eagles is the fourth book in William W. Johnstone’s epic saga of the MacCallister clan, a family caught up in the vivid sweep of American history. Jamie Ian MacCallister has survived the bloodshed of the Alamo and the Civil War. Now the battle has gotten personal: Jamie is on a one-man vendetta against the Miles Nelson gang, the men responsible for the brutal murder of his wife Kate. His journey of revenge will take him from Atlantic City to the deadly landscape of the Colorado Rockies - and finally to the Battle of Little Big Horn.

This blood-drenched Western Odyssey has drawn comparisons from critics to the films of Clint Eastwood, with good reason; Jamie Ian MacCallister’s relentless pursuit is a jaw-clenching trek into the hellish heart of the American West.

Performed by Mort Shelby, David Coyne, Terence Aselford, Nanette Savard, Richard Rohan, Thomas Penny, Vanessa Benjamin, Michael Glenn, Sunny Lasskey, Ken Jackson, Casey Jones, Karen Carbone, James Konicek, Delores King Williams, Christopher Graybill, James Lewis.

Good Book

Great narration! Story is a somewhat tiresome, same ol’same ol’! To paraphrase, can only ride the same horse but so long.

Scream of Eagles (Jamie)

This is the fourth book about Jamie. I hate that Kate got killed. Jamie is on the hunt for them to get his revenge. This is my favorite storyline. This book does not disappoint. There is so many of the nelson gang that's Jamie is hunting he has no problem finding them. So the actual hunt wasn't the story line. Killing them was the main storyline. This is my favorite book so far. Falcon is in a lot of this book. I (think) this series is going to be about him in the future books. I like Jamie but I'm kinda getting tired of him. This is an important book to listen to if your doing the whole series. It explains what happened to Jamie. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narrators.(Dramatized). Kate and Jaime together forever.

I need to continue the Jaime MacAllister story after the end of book three. I wasn't surprised. I love the writing of these books. It is a movie in my mind. The narrator sounds like a real cowboy telling a story beside a chuck wagon.

Love all Order of Eagles saga

I love all of the order of Eagles series thus far. The story is so good it really pulls me in and makes me feel like I’m there. My only gripe is that I’m not a huge fan of some of the voice actors playing out this type of audiobook where it is a dramatized version. I LOVE the narrator that reads majority of W. Johnstone books, like in the Preacher series. He is the absolute perfect voice for this genre. And though I do enjoy listening to the more play like versions that are referred to as dramatized, I can’t stand the voice that plays preacher. Especially when you have read the Mountain man series and know that Preacher is nothing like the voice actor portrayed him here. They make him sound like a dumb ass dumb luck mountain man, when he is far from dumb and just as bad ass as Jamie is. Heck, in the books where they are on adventures together that becomes clear enough. That complaint aside, I definitely think that this series is 100% worth a listen! Pssh all of the series are. You will not be disappointed in any of them if you’re into books of this era.
