About this listen

With the master’s spirit still haunting London, Charity must remain at Freak House. But the peace is shattered when Samuel’s father is brutally slain by a demon on the estate. Who summoned it and why?

As some questions are answered, yet more secrets about Samuel emerge that send him hurtling toward madness. Secrets that terrify Charity and draw her inevitably closer to him. As the lies are peeled back to reveal the truth, will she be able to conquer her fears and give Samuel what he craves?

The narrator in this series of the Freak House Trilogy was much better than the narrator in the first 3 books of the previous series. Sometimes the narrator will fall off character in terms of the voice acting but not enough to distract or discourage me from continuing to listen to the whole book. The story line was good and intriguing. I will continue the series despite the narrator.

Intriguing series

I thought at first that the narration had improved, but not long into the book, she fell back to her overly dramatic voices.
Mr Lang sounds like an old, stuffy British woman. Some of the men sound like screeching crones.

For the third/final book in the series, I think I’ll just read it.

I would definitely encourage the author to pick a different narrator and have this series re-recorded.

A decent story ruined by narrator.

My emotions are so tortured back and forth along with Charity and Samuel. I cannot not know the how this ends in book three.

So much back and forth

The story is good but very hard to listen to. Narrator needs to work on her acting skills and voices.

Demons twist

I love CJ Archer but this sub series is not up to her usual standard. The story is pretty dull and there isn’t really a well defined, interesting plot. I found Charity to be irritating and annoying and very wishy washy. I do not like the narrator for this series either. Her voices are comedic and annoying. I hope the finale makes up for books 1 and 2!

Not one of my favorites

I am not happy with the narrator of this book. would like to exchange for another book

not happy with narrator

Like others, I may just read the last book. The narrator makes me dislike Charity so much. She’s whiny and annoying. I find I’m grinding my teeth throughout the story. I’ll go to the library and check out the book to save myself.

Just seems to get worse
