Monica Best believes in second chances...until her boyfriend breaks her heart.

After a rocky start to stardom, Monica Best’s life is finally back on track. She’s thrilled with the direction her pop star career is taking and is madly in love with Preston Scott, her doting boyfriend and ambitious manager...until she witnesses him making out with another woman.

Ready to swear off men forever, Monica is introduced to Logan Hathaway, the new publicist Harper Music has hired specifically to help cover her ridiculous interviewing blunders. He’s gorgeous, polite, and has a heart of gold. Even better, he’s willing to go along with Monica’s impromptu plan of becoming her fake boyfriend in a plot to make Preston jealous. The pretend couple agrees on no emotional attachment but the lines between real and fake quickly become blurred.

It isn’t long before Monica realizes she’s falling hard for Logan. Just when she’s finally ready to give their relationship a try, Logan’s beautiful and unfailingly sweet lifelong friend decides to make a move and confess her feelings for him. Heartbroken, the show must go on and Monica has to decide if she’s willing to fight for love or say goodbye before losing her chance at stardom forever.

See a Star Rise

What a fun book. I listened with my granddaughter and she had to hit pause a few times so she wouldn't miss anything while she was laughing! I am loving thus series. Good clean romance. The narrator is perfect for this series.

Best of the series - pun intended!

I love this whole fun series, but Monica & Logan's story is possibly my favorite. I read the book when it first came out in November 2018 & was eager to "reread" it - audibly. I enjoyed that all the other characters were part of it, too, so even though this is Monica's story, we also get to keep up with the others as well. Monica is a complex mix of vulnerability and insecurity with beauty and musical talent. Logan is the dreamy, swoony counterpart to Preston's sleeziness. Neither Monica nor Logan is perfect, but they learn to love each other as they are. The story isn't flawless, but I don't know that any story really is; however, it's a 5 star to me because it's all that I want in a good book - fully engaged from beginning to end, characters I'd love to know in real life, and a happily-ever-after that has me smiling long after I've finished reading! It's also one of those books that you will read or listen to over & over again! *Clean romance level: passionate kisses, but nothing graphic (The narrator does a decent job, but her accents are weak & there were several mispronounced words)

Nuanced and Funny!

I love how the author so perfectly balances each character’s imperfections with a great amount of likability. They are so well rounded and these nuances make you root for them rather than be annoyed. I love Monica’s back story. I like that it was funny, outlandish, and believable!
The narrator did a good job.

Enjoyed

See a Star Rise is a sweet and clean YA romance appropriate for tweens and up. I’ve enjoyed following the characters in this series, but I believe you could read it as a stand alone. The characters are interesting and the narrator does a nice job with voices for them. The storyline is fun and kept me engaged throughout.

Such a fun story!

I’m loving this series so much! See a Star Rise is an entertaining, humorous, swoony story. I think the narrator does a fabulous job with the characters, and I had a hard time turning it off to do other things- this book hooks you from the start, and you won’t want to turn if off until the end. This is a perfect story for when you need a fun escape from life. Highly recommend!
