This one didn't call to me as much

I've only listened to books 5 and 6 (including 7, obviously) in this series. While I enjoyed 5 and 6, book 7 didn't really call to me or hold my attention as the other two. There weren't any issues that I noticed, yet it seemed to take me a lot longer to get through the story. It's probably just me, but I felt the sex scene at the end of the story wasn't really needed. Obviously, the two main characters are in love and want to finally "get together." Ending the story with the two main characters having sex, I don't know, maybe the scene was just too graphic because I don't feel like it fit with the rest of the story.

Given that I listened to this story instead of reading it, I also felt that there was a lot more narration as opposed to dialogue between the characters. Therefore, it was somewhat hard to tell when the narrator stopped narrating and the characters began speaking to each other.

Not as good as the last book in the series

I liked the last audiobook in this series. It's the same narrator and so I thought I would try it out.

The story wasn't very fun. There was too much time spent on dysfunctional relationships that were not particularly interesting or romantic. It's more of a modern romance even though they do end up in Regency England for a few chapters.

I think if you like this series you should definitely have a listen as the characters are from earlier on.

I like the author, I like some of the books in this series (I haven't read/listened to them all), I like the narrator but for some reason...it just wasn't great...

Contemporary Woman Lost in Time

I accidentally listened to this book and book 9 of this series out of order—this book was listed as book 23 of the series on the review site I got it from—and listening to this one first is certainly recommended as it will help you understand book nine much better. While this is a time-travel book, the hero and heroine at its heart are contemporary. Near the beginning of the book, the heroine falls back in time, and while we see little of it, the hero spends years trying to find her. Everyone else believes she has died falling from a cliff, but he cannot believe it. Luckily, it turns out he is right! I found him to be incredibly sympathetic because of all he went through trying to find the heroine and how he suffered because of how she treated him when they finally do meet up in Regency England. Their relationship had been on shaky ground when she disappeared, and she clearly harbors resentments even after all this time. I loved watching how she fought with herself, her mouth uttering words at odds with her thoughts. You literally see the struggle between what she says and what she thinks. The concept of time travel back and forth in this series is quite complex, and we learn quite a bit about how it has worked in this family through the centuries. I love the intricacies of it, even if all that happened between generations for centuries is a bit confusing at times. An interesting listen, and one that you should certainly read or listen to before the 9th book of the series!

Worth the wait

One of my favorites of the series. I’ve been waiting for Trenton to get his own story. Separated from my Love did not disappoint. I didn’t initially like a Genevieve very much. So it did take me a little bit to warm up to her. But she won me over and could see why she acted the way she did. Loved meeting new characters and catching up with the oldest ones. But especially love love loved Alice finally getting to see someone from her past! Great story as all the linked through time books are

Exciting, well written and pulls you in.

Time travel is just so exciting to be able to go back in time and maybe find your soul mate would be lovely. I truly believe there is someone for everyone but that some just never meet due to living so far away or maybe they are in another time. It would be so heart breaking to fall so deeply in love but having a falling out and have that person come up missing never to be seen again. What do can you do but move on in your life after waiting, looking and not finding the person you are seeking. Maybe it would work out and maybe it would not but you would always be left wondering, looking and seeking. What this author has done is taking the above and twisting it into a wonderful delightful story that holds you captivate. It is full of broken hearts, seeking your true love who misunderstood something, love, romance, mystery and so much more.

I have just listened to another audio by this narrator my feelings haven’t changed on her narration. I have mixed feelings about the narration, oh I feel she did a great job but her normal voice is just too cheery for me. I can hear the sun shine when I think it might have been a little better if it wasn’t shinning so loud. Her character voices are wonderful both male and female are great, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. She can really pull out the emotions of each character as she brings the story to life. There are no repeating of words, no volume change and no background noise. She does have a pleasant normal voice it just isn’t one that sounds natural to me, I can’t imagine talking to someone who is so cheery, and it just seem forced. Besides that I think it was a great audio, it is very clear and clean.

I really loved the characters in this story my heart went out to Trenton who may have found out what happen to his beloved. It sounds nuts even to him, but he will not leave a rock not turned if there is hope to get to the woman he loves back. At times my heart went out to Genevieve and other times not so much. She expected so much from a man who fought so hard to find her. Give the man a break unlike you it isn’t so easy for him to go through time. I loved the supporting characters and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for me with story of Serenity and Brandon story which looks to be even more exciting than this one.

It is very important for Genevieve to be found someone needs her help and only she can give it. The question is will she be to bullhead only seeing her pain and lose the chance to really be with the man she loves and go back home doing what she must. The twists and turns are very interesting, I found myself talking to the characters. I really wanted to push Genevieve right back through time and make her see she was being unreasonable. I did like the Duke and his adorable son and hope things work out for him, and he finds love but with his job it won’t be easy. It was an audio I had trouble putting down I had to know what happen next. There is some humor, some baiting that keeps the story interesting, a little drama that makes you want to shake a few, chat with some others and at times want to give some a hug. I totally enjoy this and can’t wait to start the next one in this series.

An example of never giving up!

A disillusioned young woman, feeling neglected by her the one she loves, falls from a cliff, in a drunken stupor.
However, events lead her love to believe that she had not fallen to her death, and he moves heaven and earth to regain her.

Entertaining series

I've been intrigued by Trenton and Genevieve's story since book one and I've skipped ahead a couple of titles in order to get to the conclusion. However, in doing so I also missed a little bit of Genevieve's adventures. It didn't lessen my enjoyment of this book but I will definitely finish reading the back-list and look forward to reading Serenity's story when it is published in February 2018.
This was a quick, entertaining read which can be read as a standalone but I'd recommend the series as a whole as it doesn't disappoint.

I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.

Separated from My Love, enjoyed

Book seven in the Linked Across Time series. Genevieve Byrne and Trenton Quinn’s story of a man who would do anything for the woman he loves, even follow her into the past. I enjoyed listening to their story, they have so much to go through, but get their HEA.

Okay read and pretty good listen..

OMG! I thought I disliked Regina, from Seduction of My Rake, but I cannot stand Eve in this story. I just wanted Trenton to turn around and walk out on her. She’s such an jerk. He’s been trying to find her for over a year and finally found a way to travel back to the time period she’s in and she just kept letting her mouth out-distance her brain and was mean as heck to Trent. Two books and the author made two heroines act like spoiled brats. Now, I’ll just be glad when this is over, I’m tired of reading about Eve and her hatefulness. And what’s even stupider is the fact that Eve knows she’s being a brat but she’s still ticked off that Trent didn’t find her sooner? What? I can’t believe how much I was looking forward to this book.

The worst was when Serenity told Eve she had to go back or Eve’s sister was going to die and Eve said she’d think about it and let her know in the morning. Really? She was just TSTL!!

There was explicit sex in this story and the F-bomb was used 7 times.

As to the narrator: Again Duchess DeFoix was a good reader but she was too dramatic in her reading. BUT I did like that her men sounded like men and not like girls.
