About this listen

The grandson of a Scottish clan laird, Duncan MacTavish is shocked to learn that his other grandfather was an English marquis whose title and London estate he is now required to take on. Worse still, he is engaged to a stranger who has mocked him in public. But his bride-to-be, Ophelia, has been guiding a lovely and witty, if dreadfully inexperienced, country girl named Sabrina through the latter's all-important first coming-out season.

The enchanting Sabrina enthralls Duncan much more than his own intended does, and she shares his passionate feelings as well. But duty and circumstance - plus a scandal in Sabrina's family past - have made it impossible for her and the dashing highlander to be together...unless true love can somehow, miraculously, find a way.

I just can't get enough of Johanna Lindsey!

This is another wonderful book by one of my favorite romance authors. This is humorous, romantic, and a page turner. She always has to throw in a heart twist which is essential to all good romances.

Laurel Merlington is a gem as the narrator. You never have to worry about the quality of the narration when you see her name.

GREAT NARRATOR!!

The Heir was an enjoyable story. I loved the H/H Duncan MacTavish and Sabrina. The secondary characters were very good Duncan's grandfathers Neville and Archie were a Hoot!! Sabrina had to maiden aunts who were very entertaining too.

Overall a great believable Historical Romance. It hits all the notes I love in this genre. Rich, Titled Lord who is kind, sexy and handsome. Kind generous Young Heirion. Just a fast moving and very good story.

Definitely a great read

I feel like unlike most of Johanna Lindsey's books, this one was to the point. Which I really enjoyed. I like that this novel also stressed forming a friendship first. Thumbs up on this one to both Audible and Johanna

excellent...

In the world of happy ever after romances this one was a hit for me! I don't get the bad reviews. if you want historical accuracy, no silliness and something serious then buy non fiction! Great characters.... fun plot.... exactly what it is.

NARRATOR : Cudos to Laurel Merlington! She has perfected any complaints I had in the
beginning of her career.... and they were strongly negative too. ... but no more !
Strictly A+ all the way!

CREDITWORTHY? Yes....if you're buying this genre for sure...

HEAT FACTOR: Steamy!!!

old title, still love the story

I like this story. It's sweet and simple, however for you all looking for steamy, this one is not it. It's a typical romance development, with a loveable hero and heroine. The narrator was OK, although her Scottish brogue was a bit teeth gritting at times. I found speeding up the sound improved it!

The Heir

I have read 90% of Johanna Lindsey’s books at least twice, I now listen to them with Audible! The Heir has a storyline that captures your heart. Sabrina, is not the most beautiful lady in the story, but she she has the purest heart, she is funny, and she does not fall to pieces when things go wrong for her. Duncan is different from most of Lindsey’s heroes, he does not fall for the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Duncan falls in love with Sabrina’s character first and her physical appearance last.
The narrator, L. Merlington was very enjoyable, she will be on my list of favorites for future purchases.

A very good story

This book holds your interest from the beginning. I sometimes dislike narration with a British accent, however, Laurel made the characters come alive. You won't be dissatisfied with this book if you enjoy romantic historical novels.
