Publisher's summary

Katherine Vareck is in for the shock of her life when she learns upon her husband Meri’s death that, before the accident, he had married two other women. And you know how the saying goes: Hell hath no fury like a woman who married a man who married two other women. Or something like that.

Christian, Duke of Ranford and Meri’s far more upstanding brother, has no earthly clue how to be of assistance. He spent the better part of his adult years avoiding Meri and the rest of his good-for-nothing family, so to be dragged back into the fold is…unexpected. Even more so is the intrepid and beautiful Katherine, whom he cannot be falling for because he’s emotionally closed off and all that nonsense. Or can he?

With a textile business to run and a strong, early friendship forming with Meri’s two other wives, Katherine doesn’t have time for frivolities. But there’s something about the pained and compellingly taciturn Christian that draws her to him. When an opportunity to partner on a business venture draws them even closer, they’ll have to learn to face their past fears if they’re to live and love in the present.

Good Story

This was a bit of a different Regency romance, and one that I liked. I found the main characters’ chemistry a little under-developed which is the reason for the 3-stars. The narrator is a favorite and not the reason for their lack of connection. Check out Prince Charming and see the difference in writing. Overall it’s an enjoyable read, all tied up in a neat package.

It’s OK. A little unexpected whoopee!

Performer is good. I like this kind of story even when it’s obvious where it’s going. The journey there was fine.

Second try is a charm

When I first listened to this book, I found it very slow going and vowed to never listen again. Buuut, I did listen again and found the book to be greatly entertaining. The essence of the story is a bit far-fetched. Would any man ever marry three women at the same time? What are the chances those three women would be friends? Sure. Regardless, the characters in the book are delightful as is their dialogue. My second listen yields another star.

Fun read

Rosalyn Landor as narrator brought life to a fine historical HEA. I appreciated Ms. MacGregor's bringing forth the plight of discharged military soldiers in the British Isles and how the main characters Kat and Christian grew to love each other as they worked to create work and homes for the soldiers while untangling very tangled family issues. Nicely done.

Enjoyed it

Good story and excellent narration. If it's a book that is performed by Rosalyn Landor it's almost guaranteed to be very good and worth the money.

What a fun storyline

I absolutely love the plot of this story. The three widows helping each other out and working together to figure out the unfortunate situation they were is was handled with finesse.

The introduction of the men that would feature in future books to the series left this reader anticipating the next book to the series.

The narrator did an amazing job with her wide age range or male and female voices.
