About this listen

The Sepher Yetzirah or Book of Formation is perhaps the oldest rabbinical treatise of Kabbalistic philosophy which is still extant. This thoroughly re-edited and revised version helps bring this text to life.

I was hoping it would communicate something a little less abstract. The research and naration are good.

Interesting

This book has so much knowledge in it but the way it’s conveyed is in lists and descriptions. The reader is hard to follow. I was hoping for more insight but none the less because of books I’ve previously I had some background knowledge and was able to interpret the reading but for someone with no knowledge on hermetics and the Hebrew words involved with it then go start somewhere else this should not be your first book to get introduced

I’d prefer to read then listen to this specific book

A clearly spoken reading of this translation, which is not simple given the Hebrew, with a good explanatory introduction.

Essential source book for kabbalah

I've studied this info a few times over the years, but to hear it audibly helped with the cognitive coherence.

It's finally starting to come together.

Along with Scholem and Fortune this was insightful. Listen first. Then listen again with pen and pad....

Gonna listen to this a few times....

Enjoyed the subject matter greatly but narrator's narration style distracted from focus on the topic.

Subject great. Narration style not so much.

Highly recommended as Occult MASTERPIECE, one of the very ancient scriptures from Judaism to understand powers beyond our perception.
Highest philosophy to understand Hebrew language and Mathematical formation of existence.

very recommend to read many times

Would you listen to Sepher Yetzirah: The Book of Formation again? Why?

Yes, I would. This is the Book of Formation. This work, along with the Zohar, Book of Splendor, describes the core beliefs of Kabbalah. It is fascinating. It portrays a hidden universe behind the Old Testament, alias The Hebrew Bible, or, The Pentateuch.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Kabbalah is a character unto itself.

Have you listened to any of Alan Weyman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Not yet. I do like the way Mr. Weyman performs the narration.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me feel that there is hope for mankind.

Any additional comments?

It is a good read. Having it read to me is just plain awesome!!!!!
