The first three books of Shojai's dark, female-driven domestic thriller series featuring pet-centric plots.

"Amy Shojai's lost and found wraps family secrets, murder, and medical miracles around the small form of an autistic child. Riveting, heart-wrenching, and brilliant, here is the debut of a stunning talent." (James Rollins, New York Times best seller of Bloodline)

"Hide and seek is a creepy must read mystery for animal lovers. Animal behaviorist Amy Shojai knows her stuff." (J.T. Ellison, NYT best-selling author of When Shadows Fall)

A mom gambles a miracle will cure - and not kill - her child.

A dog finds his true purpose - when he disobeys.

Difficult to Follow, Difficult to Listen

Listened on Audible.com. The reader's voice made for difficult listening; especially for 32 hours (trilogy). Rather than try to replicate a man's voice, I suggest having another reader (male) to read the male speaking parts. The same with the Southern accent. Given my Southern heritage, I readily identify when a non-Southerner seeks to speak as only a true Southern can. Willing suspense of disbelief is difficult when the story gets as far out as "Show and Tell." Engage your listener/reader a little earlier and add the details as you proceed. However, the central characters are really the animals, and for that, I commend the author, especially her insight into the animals' instincts and natural behaviors.

Great trilogy

I love the stories, the lead character, Shadow the dog, Macy the cat, and all the other animals in these books. PTSD, autism, stalking, drug scams, dog fights and weather, all keep the the stories moving. Amy Shojai also did a great job narrating the books as she did writing them. Thank you Amy for a set of books I re-listened to back to back. It’s amazing how much more I pick up listening a second time. Plus the stories keep my interest and it’s a pleasure to listen again. Great addition to my library.

I LOVED THESE!

Being an animal lover all of my life, and now owner of multiple dogs, I love this series. After finishing the trilogy, I immediately went out and bought the next books in the series. Amy Shojai is not only an excellent author, she does a fabulous job as the narrator of these books! Plenty of facts mixed in with the fiction when it comes to training and cat/dog behavior. I can hardly wait to start the next one in the series!! Highly recommended to all of my pet owning friends, the rescuers, the breeders, the trainers and the behaviorists!!

Wonderful stories for Animal Lovers.

I loved this combined series book. The narration takes a bit of getting used to but stick with it. The characters are well developed and easy to fall in love with. Especially the four legged ones. The Animal point of view segments are well done and bring the non human characters to life. I can not wait to read more of September and Shadow adventures. Keep them coming.

Authors should NOT narrate their own books

I enjoyed the first story of this box set. It must’ve been good because I continued listening in spite of the authors cringe-worthy narration. Please please please hire a professional narrator to read your books. This attempt at voicing different characters, especially male characters, was amateurish at best and flat out cartoonish at worst. It was difficult to take a harrowing scene seriously when the detectives sounded like characters out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon.

Thank god the story was good. I gritted my teeth and listened, but I’m debating on whether to give up on the other two books in the set. I wish I had known the narration would be this bad.

I doubt I’ll be getting any of this authors other books either, as it appears she has self-narrated every one that I’ve looked at. It’s a shame too, because i actually think that i would otherwise enjoy several of them.

Good story, but can't get past the narrator

I am trying to enjoy the story, but the narration makes it very hard. I listen for awhile, then have to go away and come back. The story is interesting with lots of good twists and turns.

Too many murders

I really enjoyed the humor when Shadow recited hos point of view. The first story I pushed through the too many murders. To a good ending but only made it through the second murder in book 2 and deleted the book from my Audible

Terrible narrator

The story may have been good, the narration was so awful I couldn't finish it. Wouldn't' mind giving the author another try if someone else narrates.

WORST Narrator EVER

Author narrates her own book. I am STRUGGLING to finish. She took what could potentially be a good book and ruined it. I might be back to change my opinion if I can manage to get through this book. If this is the Review you are reading, then I couldn’t finish.
