Publisher's summary

Visiting a psychic is outside the norm for Ellison Russell. Finding bodies is not. Unfortunately, the psychic's crystal ball says she'll soon be surrounded by death. Again.

Drat. Now there's a corpse in the front drive, a witchy neighbor ready to turn Ellison and her (not so) little dog into toadstools, and a stripper named Starry Knight occupying the guest room. How did 1975 go so wrong so quickly?

Ellison must handle Mother (who's found a body of her own), make up with a certain handsome detective, and catch a killer, or the death surrounding her might be her own.

Great Series!!

I love Ellison, her daughter Grace, and her little (not so little) doggie too! Anarchy ain’t nothin to sneeze at either, not to mention Mr. Coffee in his academy award worthy performance in his (very important and instrumental) supporting role as, well, Mr. Coffee!🤣🤣Throw in a little ‘70’s feminist and social consciousness raising and you might have some idea of what the series is all about…oh, and also (let’s not forgot!) lots and lots of murder!

One thing, though, as a card carrying Baby Boomer, I don’t think, as I think back, that they had plug-in phones as early as the 1970’s. Those things didn’t arrive until sometime in the ‘80’s.

Anyway…

Great narration!! ☺️

Ellison Russell mystery

This is the latest book in the series and is just as wonderful as all of the others. 👍

coffee, coffee, coffee

What’s the obsession with coffee? The word was mentioned about a thousand times. The “bring bring” sound effect for telephone ringing was also quite irritating.

Overlooking these, the story is funny & engaging, one you’d finish in one sitting.

Fun series

Another fun book in the series! I listened to this on audio and I enjoyed the narrator. I enjoyed the references to Ellison’s cooking skills - or lack thereof; I certainly relate to that!!!

Another Winner

Ellison attracts trouble as she navigates mothering a teenaged girl in the wild 70s. My favorite part is when she and her housekeeper, Aggie, search to identify a box of ashes in her mother's closet.

More Ellison and Anarchy!!!

I love the development of Ellison. She grew up as a child of privilege, but thru events around her she's learning about the real world and is trying to break free from the cocoon that has been her life. Anarchy is just plain perfect

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SERIES

Julie Mulhern has created a great cozy mystery series with the Country Club Murders. Set in the 1970s we find Ellison Russell coming into her own as a capable woman, mother, daughter, artist and “finder of bodies”. The characters are engaging, fun and believable and the plots twist and turn to keep you guessing.
“Shadow Dancing” will make you laugh and think as again it touches on a relevant social issue. At the end you will be wanting more.

Nice one

Allison keeps racking up those lessons. Good thing as the 70’s keep rolling on, she’s maturing and learning that bad things in life happen both within and outside her privileged circle.
