About this listen

An Garda Síochána have patrolled the cobbled streets of their storied capital for nearly a century. Within the heart of their headquarters, a bloody secret is revealed.

The tortured, brutalized bodies of young women are being discovered in the shadowed corners of the city. The victims are all young, American, and the killer has left behind a chilling calling card that could have drastic political ramifications.

Detective Tadgh O’Brien has spent three years working his way into the Special Detectives Unit of the Dublin Garda. When he’s assigned to a task force to investigate a series of murders of young American women, he finds himself unlikely allies with a US FBI agent.

Special Agent Charlie Ryan is assigned to the International Human Rights Crime Unit of the FBI. She’s ecstatic to receive a career launching assignment to work alongside the Garda task force in Ireland. But she discovers that her job will involve more than murder investigations. Her Irish counterparts will use her as bait to lure a homicidal trio out of the shadows.

When Tadgh and Charlie become temporary colleagues, they find themselves both at odds and unmistakably drawn to one another. Charlie is an experienced, street-savvy law enforcement agent from a large American city. Coming from an abusive home life, she’s learned to depend solely on herself, hesitant to trust anyone with her heart. Though Tadgh has acclimated to life in the urban jungle of Dublin, at his core he is an island boy who grew up on the coastal shores of Western Ireland. His darkest fear is that he may be the only member of the O’Brien family to never find true love and happiness. When he meets the feisty, intelligent, no-frills Special Agent Ryan, his fears change.

How will he protect her during these dark times? And at the end of this brutal case, how will he learn to live without her?

Includes bonus content Fio, an O'Brien Tales novella.

This episode in this series much improved from the last. Though the sex scenes may be appealing to some readers, the dialog between the participants are repetitive from different participants in all books in this series to date. Not very creative becoming so predictable as to be boring. There is so much more to these stories to be anticipated and appreciated.

Great story!

The story is great but the sex scenes are way too many for me but some might like that.

Love this family

This series is brilliantly read -- the voice is perfect and quite varied for different characters in the story. The story itself is gripping, hard to wait for the next chance to listen!

This book with Ty and Charlie is well paced, and a new take on life in Dublin. I really like the action, and the interactions between the different characters are authentic,. The author does a great job of developing characters and introducing new characters for future stories.

Another Enjoyable O’Brien Story

Let me start by saying I love these Irish alpha hunks ! I truly want to move to Ireland now 😁
I will continue to listen to the whole series but .....
They are all so much like the other especially books 2 and 3 . In so much of it the only difference is the names being used .
Also I am good with the narrator untill it comes to the sexual parts . She makes the males sound wimpy and you know it's always gonna be " give me your mouth I need you " that's in all the love scenes in all the books . The way it is read makes the men sound desperate and weak .
As I said I will keep going with the series I just wanted to give an honest review.
I love this family so much and I have to admit they make me very emotional at times to the point of crying but that comes from being so caught up with this family .
So it seems to be a lot of the same plot off and on but I will continue in .

Hmm 🤔

I listened to Tige’s and Charlie story in two days. I could not put it down. This book had me at the edge of my seat. Bonus story: I would have loved some More into Tim and Fiona story. Again, I am a big fan so far of this author and these books. My heart is captivated in every story. I focus on the story, the family bonds and the description of locations / emotions. Well done. Getting ready to hear book 4. Justine Eyre is a phenomenal narrator. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️❤️

Captivates my heart.
