Too Much Sex

I adore the story. The plot is intriguing and interesting. It was too much sex.

amazing 3 books to a series

I'm not sure why I waited so long to listen to these. They are fantastic. They have just the right amount of Intrigue, character building, and all the feels to keep it going.
Once again, Gary does an excellent job with all the voices so you feel like you are right there with them

Best series in a long time

Obsession-inducing characters, intricate plots, intense heat, action, and one of the best narrators to grace the audiobook world. I loved, loved all these books and can hardly wait to read the rest. I admittedly started this series because I adore Gary Furlong, but the writing keep me coming back.

Great Love Story and Adventure

This was a great adventure and mystery. It was fast paced and very sweet. At this point we get to discover more about the mysterious organization that runs the life of our two main characters. the love is hot, touching and impassioned.

I will register to this series several times.

Great characters drive a good story

First of all Gary Furlong is a master narrator which was evident in this series. Good story, great characters with sound chemistry. Parts of the story lagged but I still enjoyed it. Onto book 4

Dragged on and not very interesting.

The story had too much sex and not enough spy material. I also found the characters boring.

DNF from middle of book 1

This box set is my first experience with this author but will likely be my last. I couldn't even make it through the first book. I'm returning it.

The series is presented as Action/Adventure and Romance. I don't think either is accurate; this is more like insta-love erotica. Declan and Sam have been emailing daily for a year in preparation for their siblings' wedding. They have this massive connection, so we are told, but we never actually experience it. Their first meeting in person is disastrous and aside from the copious amount of sex (and the scenes were uninteresting), I don't feel how in five days they are both madly in love with the other. It just didn't click for me.

The POV changes with alarming frequency, often in the middle of a paragraph. I got whiplash trying to keep up with who's thoughts were expressed. The characters and situations were completely over the top and shallow: bad people are horrible, situations are ridiculous. There is no nuance at all, which would be funny in a comedy but falls flat here. I honestly don't care AT ALL what happens to these people, which is a shame since great characters can often drag me through a mediocre story.

Gary Furlong was amazing. His accents were plentiful and I had no problem differentiating which person was speaking. His Declan voice was sexy! Unfortunately, he could not save this for me.

Maybe if you want something that isn't too deep with a ton of sex, this will be for you. I was hoping for more emphasis on plot than I got, at least as far as I listened. Gary makes it enjoyable. I still think two stars is generous.

More Heat Than the Sun LIGHT

After listening to John Wiltshire's More Heat Than the Sun series this comes off as average fanfic. Having the same narrator for both series certainly doesn't help. At some points I had to double check she hadn't tried to write her own spin off series or something.
MHTS is gritty and tough. You believe the characters motivations behind how they behave towards one another. something this author doesn't quite achieve. For me it fell flat. The BDSM and kink aspect doesn't quite work because the characters don't read broken enough (not saying you have to be broken to enjoy BDSM).
I might have enjoyed it a little more if I'd listened to this one first.
if you enjoyed this but would like to try something far grittier, try John Wiltshire's series. It's better written and far more intense.
