Daughter Approved

What made the experience of listening to Shirley Jane and the Mystery of the Golden Monkey the most enjoyable?

My daughter got really into listening to the story, and it was a fun experience watching her.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shirley Jane and the Mystery of the Golden Monkey?

The selection of "Sherlock Holmes" for the assignment. I enjoy his writings.

What about Giselle Lumas’s performance did you like?

She has a wide range, performs with different voices, and does not have an accent (accents while beautiful can make listening hard).

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just the reaction of watching my daughter enjoy it.

Any additional comments?

There should be more of a push to get children into audiobooks. My daughter was so enthralled with this one. I am grateful to have received this review copy and to have had this experience with my daughter.

Um

I didn't like this book I don't know if it's because it's a kid book or because of the narrator.

Cute Children's Story With Fun Characters

"Shirley Jane and the Mystery of the Golden Monkey" was a cute, short children's mystery with good characters. This story will be a nice series. There's Shirley Jane who's related to Sherlock Holmes and her friends Janice and Joshua who try and solve the case of the golden monkey.

With this story being for children, I listen as if to hear it from my grandchildren's ears and I think they'd enjoy it. Both the story and the characterizations. An overall cute story by Brianna Benji.

Giselle Lumas has great kid's voices. I think she's able to get to a place that would make this a fun listen. I think the audio is still somewhat tinny but improved. This will improve more over time. Kids aren't going to notice that or care. Good job by both artists.
