If you could sum up Shiver of Fear in three words, what would they be?

Revenge, perseverance, and focus

Would you recommend Shiver of Fear to your friends? Why or why not?

No this author is not for me. It had a good outline, but needed better editing as it was about 1 hr too long. I did listen at new 1.25 x speed which did help move the story along.
Good mystery and good romance, but author had too much self doubt for the heroine for my personal taste. Too bad as ViVi and ASAC Colton Lang story could be good! I would start with their story first. Our hero Marc had his sexy moments and better editing could have captured all the elements without seeming to stretch out the story.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I purchased this book years ago but didn't listen to it until now. Violet Grey sounds like AKA Nicole Poole and AKA Justine O'Keefe whom I have books they have read. I am not a fan of either of their readings voices. So those voices may have influenced me on this listen. I must say this is a much better reading voice! If you are a fan of the 2 readers then you will enjoy this voice. Note: Irish brogue is very good with no complaints on that front. It kept me with the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes as it did have a good mystery outline. Lots of adventure, but on the amateurish side at times. Note: to be fair I had just finished a Michael Connelly book before listening to this one. This author is on the right track.

I have an one more book read by Violet Grey purchased at the same time 2 yrs ago. I hope that read changes my opinion of her current style if I am correct about AKA names. If they are the same person then she should have kept this reading voice as it is good!

I am so glad I read the second book in this series first. If this had been attempted first, I wouldn't have bought another. The narrator's attempt at Irish accents for all the Irish characters was painful to listen to. She was not very successful with the American characters either. With the very slow and halting speech for the lead male character, it sounded as if she was implying either a speech impediment or a cognitive disability. Just couldn't make it all the way through this book even with multiple attempts. She did so much better with the first book in this series.

The Guardian Angelinos is the best new romantic suspense series I have "read/listened to" in a long time! I hope they put more of these books out on Audio. I could not stop listening - I loved the characters and the storyline was action packed from the first page. Love it!!
