About this listen

Shivers, the scaredy-est pirate ever to sail the seven seas, is back. Perfect for fans of such series as Stick Dog, Big Nate, Dork Diaries, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

This time Shivers must set sail again to get his beloved ship, the Land Lady, back from Mayor Sheila B. President. Shivers won't be going alone, however. He'll be bringing his best pal, Margo, and his loyal fishmate, Albee, on a clingy-clam and hot dog-filled adventure. Like all good pirates, Shivers will just have to grab his swimmies (and his bunny slippers) and jump right into this epic tale.

Would you listen to Shivers! again? Why?

I could listen to Shivers! over and over again. I'm sure each time I listen, I'd catch a new joke or play on words. It's hilarious!

What did you like best about this story?

Shivers and Margo always go on the best adventures--super silly but of the utmost importance. It's a joy to read about their antics.

What does Connor White bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's always nice to listen to a book that's narrated by its author, because they know more about the characters than anyone else. Connor White really takes this to another level. His impressive range of voices painted such a clear picture of each of the dozens of characters in the book. And some of them are pretty kooky! It was truly a joy to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Silly fun for kids and parents alike
