About this listen

Paige Watts is the ultimate stage mother. The daughter of Hollywood royalty, Paige channels her own acting dreams into making her daughter, Emma, a star. By the age of nine, Emma is playing a central role in a hit TV show. Then everything is shattered by unforeseeable tragedy.

Now, Emma is living with her Aunt Whitney, who had chosen a very different path from her sister’s. Whitney was always the studious older sister, hating the cult of celebrity that enveloped their childhood. Instead, she is a psychiatrist who lives for her work and enjoys a no-strings-attached love affair with a wealthy venture capitalist. But at a moment’s notice, Whitney drops everything to help her niece.

Once famous, outgoing, and charismatic, Emma is now a shadow of her former self - without speech, without memory, lost and terrified. But with her Aunt Whitney’s help, along with a team of caregivers and doctors, Emma begins to find her way, starting her young life all over again - and changing the lives of everyone around her.

Emotionally gripping and richly involving, Silent Night explores how the heart has mysterious healing powers of its own and how blessings happen when we think all is lost.

Overall very mediocre

Just okay. As some reviews stated before I chose it, it is very repetitive. It is indeed! I almost stopped several times, but I stayed with it and finished. Nothing riveting or exciting. Very predictable as DS books are known to be. Glad it was an Audible daily deal because it is definitely NOT worth a credit.

Sweet Story

Very simple story line. Touching at times. Don’t think I would read it again as it didn’t do much for me but I think it still deserves four stars.

Repetitive, predictable

The story was too long for the depth of this plot. The inner dialogue and outer dialogue was repetitive. Per Forman we was fine, the the story was just too thin. As a result it was not that interesting..

Beautiful!!

I never want Danielle’s stories to end! They’re such a wonderful escape! They always describe women of substance that endure life’s challenges with kindness and grace.

I am so curious as to why she always has male narrators though? They do a great job, but, male voices don’t really translate well for a woman’s voice. Odd.

Parts of the book was interesting but boring at the same time. To much repetition.

Constant Repeated lines and phases

I feel like it read the book six or seven times with how many times she repeats things. Even if you phrase a line differently doesn’t make the outcome any different, just repeated.
This is the third and last book I will read by this author because I find it a common issue in all the books I’ve read by her. It’s like having rice or potatoes in a dish to fill in the blank spaces on a plate and in the stomach. There is no value to it and doesn’t make it any better. Very disappointing because I was told she was a great author. What a bummer.

Beautiful story, very touching too. Loved it!!

Most memorable moment for me was when it hit Whitney that Emma's hearing had returned...
