About this listen
Silver Basics for New Investors
Congratulations! You have found the book with the silver lining in a cloud of silver information.
Since you are looking at this particular book on silver basics, you must be new to silver and interested in a book that will walk you through the world of silver, one step at a time, starting from the very beginning or square one.
As the author, I wrote this book with the assumption that you know very little or nothing about silver and you picked up this book to see what silver had to offer, specifically without the fluff and useless information given in most other books written to guide or help you through silver.
This book is not only very informative, but also entertaining. You will be introduced to silver at its most basic and familiar form: pocket change (junk silver). Yes, your pocket change can be worth more than the five, ten, 25, or 50 cents face value. Even some of your silver dollars will be worth a whole lot more than just one-dollar, due to the melt value for the 90 percent silver content. This will be explained further in the book.
Today is a very good time to take an interest in silver. If you have been watching the news and the financial channels, silver prices have jumped and it looks like it will continue to skyrocket along with the price of gold.
There is also a chapter or two about Silver stacking, silver stocks and mining. This will give you additional information and a chance to review possible future investments.
To keep this book light and fun, I will introduce you to a few friends with a silver podcast and I will teach you how to find a good coin dealer.

Investing and trading in gold and silver is always a sound idea - and that goes double in a time of unusual market fluctuation. As people look for safe places to diversify their investment risk, you'll likely see the value of your investment go up where other stocks are vulnerable. Gold and silver saw increases in value of 16% and 15% respectively in 2019 - putting them among the top 10 most desirable commodities out there - and are projected to experience even more of a bear market as the dollar wobbles in an uncertain post-COVID world.

Story
Good capital allocation is the secret sauce of business success and investment returns. How could what you spend money on inside a business not be of utmost importance? I looked for a business person's guide to effective capital allocation for years. I thought, "What a nice gift to send to the CEOs of my portfolio companies!" as visions of outsized returns danced in my head. To my dismay, the search came up dry. I decided I'd have to write my own. I started at the individual customer transaction level and built all the way up to M&A, share buybacks, and beyond.

Story
When Jared Dillian joined Lehman Brothers in 2001, he fulfilled a life-long dream to make it on Wall Street - but he had no idea how close to the edge the job would take him. Like Michael Lewis' classic Liar's Poker, Jared Dillian's Street Freak takes listeners behind the scenes of the legendary Lehman Brothers, exposing its outrageous and often hilarious corporate culture.

Story
Jesse Livermore was a loner, an individualist - and the most successful stock trader who ever lived. Written shortly before his death in 1940, How to Trade Stocks offered traders their first account of that famously tight-lipped operator's trading system. Written in Livermore's inimitable, no-nonsense style, it interweaves fascinating autobiographical and historical details with step-by-step guidance on: reading market and stock behaviors.

Story
Whenever I tell people about my job as a financial advisor, the conversation inevitably turns to how hopeless they feel when it comes to dealing with money. More than once they've begged, "Just tell me what to do." It's no surprise that even my most successful friends feel confused or paralyzed. Even if they have a shelfful of personal finance books, they don't have time to make sense of all the information available.

Story
Why do we lose money? It's easy to blame the economy or the financial markets - but the real trouble lies in the decisions we make. As a financial planner, Carl Richards grew frustrated watching people he cared about make the same mistakes over and over. They were letting emotion get in the way of smart financial decisions. He named this phenomenon - the distance between what we should do and what we actually do - "the behavior gap". He found that once people understood it, they started doing much better.

Story
The 1980s was the most outrageous and turbulent era in the financial market since the crash of ’29, not only on Wall Street but around the world. Michael Lewis, as a trainee at Salomon Brothers in New York and as an investment banker and later financial journalist, was uniquely positioned to chronicle the ambition and folly that fueled the decade. In these trenchant, often hilarious true tales we meet the colorful movers and shakers who commanded the headlines and rewrote the rules.
