About this listen

Brian Silver is CEO of the world's largest coffeehouse chain in the world, Silver Coffee. Growing up in a wealthy family, Silver had it all: money, fame, and any man he wanted, but that was never enough. Silver wants more.

Greyson Black is a coffeehouse barista in one of the Silver Coffee chains in downtown Manhattan. Greyson is finishing school and determined to find the best path for his life. When Brian Silver makes a "surprise" stop at the franchise, he's more than intrigued by the young, gorgeous Greyson. Silver knows that there's only one thing that he must have now, and he will do whatever it takes to get him.

When Silver and Greyson get together, sparks fly. Silver is perfect in Greyson's eyes, but is love blind? A mysterious stranger is out for Greyson, and the mind games have just begun. Greyson starts to question everything, including Silver's advances. When danger is lurking around every corner, no one is safe. Greyson will have to determine if love is worth the danger and excitement.

Amazing in every way!

The story is compelling, the Characters drew me in right away and the erotic scenes were just that! Silver and Black just melt my heart, they are sooo good together.

My favorite part, hard to say the story just sucks you in and you can't stop listening. But probably the birthday weekend.

The narrator is one of my favs by far, all the voices are easy to tell apart and Silver's voice gave me chills (in a great way).

The only thing I didn't like about this book, was when it ended. I want more of Brian Silver & Grayson Black, because the are so sweet together.

I want a sequel! I have listened to this book 3x already and I just can't put it down. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!

OK Story Made Better By Narrator

This wasn't a bad story, but it seemed to drag in places with a few too many sex scenes, info dumps, and dialog that could have been tightened up some. There is a scene at the end of the story, taking place in a hallway, where I wanted to just yell at the two main characters to shut up already! They kept going back and forth, arguing, and it took away from what was supposed to be a tense, suspenseful moment.

On the other hand, I liked that the author was able to take me by surprise, several times. The narrator did a good job, although the way he pronounced words with 'T's in the middle threw me out of the story until I got used to his style (as an example, the word 'gotten' sounded like 'ga en').

Hot Sexy Romantic Mystery

5 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames
The narrator Guy Locke is new to me. He gave a superbly well-rounded performance filled with dramatic tension and vulnerable sexy moments in this exceptional romance.
rian Silver is CEO of the world's largest coffeehouse. He is almost obsessively in love with Greyson Black. Greyson works as barista while studying and a proudly determined to finish school. Brian Silver will do whatever is necessary to win the gorgeous Greyson's heart.

Lots of twists and turns created lots of mystery. The author skillfully created an unpredictable plot. We have hot steamy sexy times mixed with danger and excitement.
I recommend this book for when you are in the mood for a romantic fiction.
Happy Listening.

livejournal flashbacks

This book wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't say it was good either. I was about one more chapter away from giving up on it & listening to something else when I became just intrigued enough by the secondary story to keep going. I was ready to give up again later, but then realized there was only an hour left & it became more a matter of just seeing it through to the end.
The story reminded so much of something I might've read on livejournal 20 years ago (yesteryear's version of Archive of Our Own for those not yet old enough to be considering a mid-life crisis). Generally decent story, but the writing was awkward & anxious. Too much unnecessary detail at times & most of the conversations were unnatural. Real people just don't talk to each other that way. They especially don't text as portrayed in the book (granted, the texting may've come across better in the printed format than in audiobook). And SO many dismissed red flags that would never have gone ignored IRL by someone with Black's past. Lastly, the epilogue straight up recaps everything that unfolded in the chapter before like we didn't just. listen. to. it. Why?
As for the narration, I agree with some other reviews that it was a bit robotic, but I sped it up to 1.2 & the pace was much more suitable.
All in all, I finished the book & it wasn't horrible. But I won't revisit it in the future & if it hadn't been part of my Escape membership, I'd probably be requesting a refund.

OK story. Okay narration.

If you like the idea of a M/M version of Pretty Woman you might appreciate this book.

Ok but could be a lot better

Grayson is a poor college student working at a coffee shop when the rich owner, Silver, comes in one day and sweeps him off his feet. Their romance is pretty dopey, to be honest.

Silver throws money at him and pretty much everyone. He’s possessive and protective but also sweetly compliments him all the time. Oh, and he’s also great in the sack. Way too “perfect”. At the same time there’s lots of hints that he might be a bit unstable and when Grayson thinks he has a stalker Silver is the number 1 suspect for us, the reader. This kept making me feel a bit on edge and I had to grit my teeth, listening to hours of “he’s so perfect, why does he like me?” nonsense.

Of course, things end all happy but I have to say the last 30 mins of the book were the best part of it. The most interesting.

I’m not a huge fan of the narrator. He reads a bit mechanically, but doesn’t have an slip-ups. But I liked him better with this book then the last one I listened to him narrate.

Wow, just wow.

I couldn't stop listening to this book. It is long but well worth it. Silver and Black is an intriguing mystery and a couple of times I thought I knew where it as going but when it finally went there I was so surprised. The characters are well thought out and the story line is the best I've read in awhile. I do not want to give this away but I before I read I wondered it was a HEA and it is. I thought the narrator was perfect for this book.

A fantastical tale...

Though the premise of the story is a bit far fetched, I found myself getting pulled into the story and I found that I enjoyed it a lot. Rich guy pursues poor guy...only in the movies, right!?! But one can get lost in the fantasy of it all. Several things I seen coming and a few things caught me by surprise, which is probably why I really liked the story. There was little doubt that Greyson and Brian would not get together but the path is full of bumps and hiccups, adding to the journey. Not sure about the comparison to FSOG, never read it or seen the movie, but from what I understand there truly is no comparison...different types of books. All-n-all, a good fantastical story!
