About this listen
Step onto the promenade deck of the Sea Empress for a cruise of a lifetime and become part of the world's greatest series of murder mysteries and thrillers in the Caribbean.
Marsha and Danny Jones retired from law enforcement and thought it would be just the thing to break the boredom of retirement to be security consultants to protect the Seven Seas Company's finest ship from trouble. Terrorists, killers, and sinister crewmen all plan, plot, and purvey their own special brands of crime and death and the only roadblock in their chosen course is the special resilience of this pair of sea cops.
Like all cruise ships, the Sea Empress sails year round, providing thrilling new mysteries and suspense for both passengers and crew alike. Your voyage here will last more than one cruise. Pour your favorite drink, suspend your disbelief, prop up your feet, and enjoy.
The question remains: Will Marsha and Danny be able to save the ship from harm?
Boarding now and be sure to bring your life jacket to muster stations as the Sea Empress leaves for the Caribbean in this first in the series of great sea adventures.

Story
A Swedish army lieutenant drops dead on a shooting range in the desert. Was it an unfortunate accident - or something more nefarious? Ernst Grip, an agent of the Swedish security police, is sent to the Horn of Africa to find out. Once he’s on the ground, however, he quickly discovers he’s on his own. No one wants him snooping around - especially not the US Embassy’s CIA station. Which is no surprise, given that military transport planes are leaving from the base carrying untraceable pallets loaded with cash.

Far from the hot spots, the cruise ship Zaandam, owned by Holland America, was preparing to sail from Buenos Aires, Argentina, loaded with 1,200 passengers—Americans, Europeans and South Americans, plus 600 crew. Within days, people aboard begin to fall sick. With only two doctors aboard and few medical supplies to test for or treat COVID-19, and with dwindling food and water, the ship wanders the oceans on an unthinkable journey.

wife and husband team??
the only problems I had with this six book Thriller set was that Marsha Jones was way to money hungry. it was supposed to be a husband and wife team but it seems to be only the wife is the superhero in all these books.

exciting, entertaining
What did you like best about this story?
Very entertaining reading. Lots of interesting facts within a very good storyline. You will definitely want to keep reading about the adventures of this couple. Definitely gives you a look at a different side of going on a cruise and leaves you not sure if you would be happy to go on the normal relaxing type of trip or take part in the adventures of this couple.
Have you listened to any of Paul J McSorley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Entertaining if you love cruising
I liked the history & details about cruising and many of the cruise ports. The mystery portion added to the storyline.
The big dislikes were that it was very long & repetitive. One story didn't finish its mystery but I liked listening while I was driving long distances.

Too Much Information!
I was ready to dump this book when there was still not a story after 2 hours. Too much time was spent building up details. It also was not what I was expecting. This was probably because I was thinking "cute cozy mystery collection". It is more fictional war and politics.

the politics get in the way of the syory
The author makes constant political comments about the free market and the left wing and anything else political he can lay his hands on. it got in the way of any story there might be between the comments. this. was a horrible experience.
