What happens when four assistants risk everything to say
enough is enough?

Best friends Cate, Lauren, Olivia and Max are overworked and underpaid assistants to some of the most powerful people in the entertainment industries. Like the assistants who came before them, the women know they have to pay their dues and abide the demeaning tasks and verbal abuse from their bosses in order to climb the ladders to their dream jobs.

But as they are passed over for promotions and the toxic office environments reach a breaking point, the women secretly start an anonymous blog detailing their experiences, which snowballs into hundreds of others coming forward with stories of their own. Confronted with newfound viral fame and the possibility of their identities being revealed, the assistants have to contend with the life-changing consequences of speaking out against those who refuse to share the power.

Great book

I thoroughly enjoyed the story, about 4 young women trying to make it in their first jobs. It is empowering for all women as well as heartwarming.

Fast paced

Quick listen with engaging characters about taking down the patriarchy. Enjoyed the narration and the story line.

Fast-moving Story and Narration

I had to slow down the speed of the narration because she talks so fast. I also had to rewind several times throughout the book because it was hard to keep track of which character was talking and who she was talking about...very fast-moving story and narration. There should be a sequel to this book; I want to know what happens next!

Relevant Story Well Written and Narrated

Was super happy to pick this up. Amanda did a fantastic job telling a story that happens way too often and creating heroines that may seem unlikely but are a part of all of us.

Natalie kills the narration as per usual. She is able to really connect with each of the characters and bring them to life. Making me more connected to them, the story and the message.

Great work by both!

Dragged on and on...

I regret wasting a credit on this book. Half way through I found myself checking to see how much time was left (not a good sign). If I had to sum it up it is a "me too" book that could have been wrapped up much sooner.

I had listened to "The Social Climber" by the same author and adored that book so I moved onto this one regrettably.

You've been warned.

Couldn’t listen anymore

Most of the time, I am fully engaged in these stories but wasted a credit on this one. I gave it a chance but the storyline was not believable and irritating.
