About this listen
Snitch is a fascinating story that offers a unique lens to view the #MeToo movement, inhabiting the mind of a female lawyer specializing in cases of sexual misconduct, by acclaimed feminist poet Olivia Gatwood.
Gianna Costa is an infamous attorney who has made a name for herself defending high-profile celebrities from sexual assault allegations. But what occurs in the private life of a woman who is known by some as a traitor to her own gender and others as a fast-pass to absolution? When a man from Gianna's past walks into her office looking for support, she is forced to reconcile with a memory she thought she'd left behind.
Electric and captivating, Snitch is a story of ambition, connection, and gender dynamics in our cultural moment.

New Yorkers Paul and Darren have planned a winter holiday in Venice. But when their five-year marriage suddenly unravels, Paul endeavors to make the trip alone, despite his heartbreak and anxiety. Far outside his comfort zone, Paul has a mission: to see if he can be adventurous, fearless, free. In short, to become someone new. Soon after arriving in Italy, he notices a small, scruffy, self-assured dog trotting alongside a canal with the confidence he so desperately wants for himself. This street dog and his instincts for survival lend Paul’s trip a singular purpose.

Olivia McAfee knows what it feels like to start over. Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. She never imagined that she would end up back in her sleepy New Hampshire hometown, living in the house she grew up in and taking over her father’s beekeeping business. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.

A blueprint. A bible. What Sun Tzu’s Art of War was to ancient China, Pimp is to the streets. As real as you can get without jumping in, this is the story of Iceberg Slim’s life as he saw, felt, tasted, and smelled it. It is a trip through hell by the one man who lived to tell the tale—the dangers of jail, addiction, and death that are still all too familiar for today’s Black community. By telling the story of one man’s struggles and triumphs in an underground world, Pimp shows us the game doesn’t change; it just has a different swagger.

When I was a little girl, I dreamed a handsome knight would come and rescue me from my wretched mother. He'd ride up on his white steed and break the curse I've been fated to carry since the day I was born. Funny how things changed over time, how the fairytale twisted into something far more crooked—and darker—than I ever imagined. In reality, my knight is scarred and broken, living alone in a castle of bones that overlooks the sea. He isn’t searching for me. He never was.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Parker’s days are frenetic and full. When she’s not in Zoom meetings, she’s doom-scrolling about the virus or hanging out on Houseparty with her friends. Story
In this evocative short piece, Candace worries that her mother, Annie, has reached an emotional breaking point. When her best friend loses her battle with cancer, Annie is acting in uncharacteristic ways, seemingly less concerned than ever about what her friends and neighbors think of her - a troubling development in her daughter’s eyes. But while Candace may think she knows her mother better than anyone, something deeper lingers beneath the surface, and times of hardship have a way of bringing us closer together than ever.

I'm not supposed to like this character but I do
Entertaining story, great narrator performance. This character is written to be at first glance, Unlikable. But somehow she is still likable! Perhaps because women are usually so focused on others, It is refreshing to see a character focused on her own needs (and helps that she's fictional! ;-))
This character is a guilty pleasure of that I hope I see again

Interesting
Reading the other reviews, it seems like what you get out of this story depends a LOT on the listener. I thought it was really smart and nuanced. It’s not preaching any point of view, just examining one person and how she chooses to deal with knowledge of a terrible event. There are reasons why she behaves how she does and I think it’s an interesting (but sad) situation.

Worth listening to
I liked the story and felt obligated to leave a review because all of the people calling it pointless. I also wanted to hear a more satisfying conclusion but am not going give a bad review because I got so wrapped up in the story that the ending made me annoyed enough to wright one.

"Snitch" is good, it leaves people wanting more...
"Snitch" is good, it needs more depth. it needs more development and scenes about the main character and the therapist. Plus, it would be improved with a couple of scenes with Ingrid and the main character in the present. all that said, I would recommend "Snitch".

decent story, amateur reader
I enjoyed the language of the writing, but I think I would have enjoyed reading it myself..the reader sounded monotone and stilted at times, only injecting changes of tone and speed for the male characters. the Main Character felt like she had too little emotion, though that was probably intentional.

Encore?
The ending didn't seem final. And, the story"s so good, it left me wanting more, this can't be the end of it. I'm so confused. Is there a sequel? Or, is there at least a sequel coming?

AMAZING!!!!
Definitely worth listening to. It's a very interesting look into the life of a woman who "works the system", who defends men accused of rape and It's very good at it. The story is short, but that's exactly what makes it powerful. Listen to it, you're not going to regret it!!
