About this listen

Mackenzie Wyatt believes in two things: herself and her plan. And her plan is to keep her head down and to work hard until she can retire. Never mind that she doesn't know what she'll do once she retires - at least she won't be working for the man anymore. Because even though he's a gorgeous man, he's still her boss and he likes to push her buttons.

Ethan Howell O'Connor's charmed life comes to a screeching halt after his latest ex-girlfriend starts a fashionable trend in talking to the tabloids. Now all of Ethan's old girlfriends are talking to the press, ruining his reputation, and wiping that charming smile right off his face. The only person who can brighten his black mood is the same person who can annoy him to kingdom come. He and Mackenzie have feuded since the day she was hired but now Ethan's starting to realize: maybe those sparks were hiding a blazing fire.

Mackenzie's about to find out that sometimes a gorgeous man can come up with a plan all his own, and it's a given that it'll mess hers up.

Some Like it Charming

A typical tale of a boss convincing a scorned female employee to pose as his fiancee to ward women seeking a relationship with him.

Really enjoyable

What a cute story and fun listen. Both main characters were really enjoyable. Really easy to listen too and the narrator did a good job.

Finally, Adult Banter!!

This book was kind of a sleeper. I liked it from the beginning but didn’t realize how much I liked it for maybe 10 chapters. While listening to Ethan Connor and Mackenzie Wyatt bicker as they had been from page one, I decided that it was the first story I’d read in a long time that had “adult” banter going on. Smart, funny and endearing (whether they H and h liked it or not, was happening on every page. This was a good one. An engagement of convenience for grown ups. And, the narration was spot on. Tess Irondale did a great job with both characters, even though when she voiced Ethan, she sounded exactly like Wendie Malik (an actor…when you know, you know).

Some Like It Charming

It was good. There were some real touching moments, which is always a sign of a good story. Some things I didn't like, like her relationship with her father, and that the hero got everything his way. I can't really think of anything he gave up to win his girl. She was the one to give in to all his demands, even if she did it kicking & screaming all the way. So I have mixed feelings about it. If those things don't bother you, I think you'll really enjoy this book.
