About this listen

“When I kissed you last night, I wasn’t pretending.”

Everly Dalton is a walking, talking, martini-drinking dating disaster. Forget kissing frogs. She can’t even get past the first date. But at work, she’s a badass - the longest-running assistant billionaire Shepherd Calloway has ever had. Her coworkers wonder how she handles the big bad wolf and never gets bit.

Shepherd Calloway isn’t interested in being anyone’s sugar daddy. Tired of women who only want him for his money, he swears off dating, determined to focus on running his empire. Until his gold-digging ex hits him where it hurts, putting him in a difficult position.

His solution to have Everly pose as his live-in girlfriend is obviously crazy, but the timing is uncanny. It just so happens Everly needs a favor from her boss - a big and awkward one - and this could ensure everyone gets what they want.

Besides, Everly can totally survive a few months of faux romance. Except there’s a problem. Shepherd is supposed to be a single-minded, unemotional robot boss. Not an actual human with a heart and morning wood. Between the awkward bed-sharing and tingly fake dates, lines are blurring. And as Everly gets to know the real Shepherd, she discovers there’s more to the man behind the bank account.

And faking it gets all too real...

Faking Ms. Right is a hot, stand-alone romantic comedy.

4.5 star listen, thanks to narration!

This was a fast paced story that was both enjoyable and almost plausible despite the fake aspect of the relationship. You have a handsome, no nonsense billionaire hero and a beautiful, intelligent and capable heroine that somehow find themselves in a fake predicament they fast want to become permanent. As with all fake romances there are complications that cause the two to agree to the arrangement and they make things harder than it has to be in real life. Despite that the story is enjoyable, has some hot sex and the listener can feel the attraction the two characters have for each other. The okay story was made stellar with the narrative performance of Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder. Their performance raised the storyline 1 star for me. While this may not be a story I listen to again, I did enjoy the journey and listen.

“Had Me At Hello..”

I loved this story. I loved everything about it, especially the fact that Jason Clarke narrated it. It was cute, sexy and the best part.. I wanted to be included in the circle of trust with Everly and her friends. Sweet, not a lot of angst and every character a good one, this is the book. My only complaint is the way Emma Wilder pushes out air at the end of most of her sentences. I always have to get past that. She doesn’t do it when she’s speaking for other characters, only for the main character, and it’s a shame. But even with that flaw, it was a 5 star read for me.

So good!

I loved everything about this story! It's was numerous and sexy. I fell in love with every single character, well except for Shep's Ex.
As if the amazing story itself wasn't enough, the audiobook included two extremely talented voice actors who brought every character to life.

Ok, now I’m a huge Claire Kingsley fan!

So I’m not even sure what made me purchase this book... I had SO MANY already on my wish list. But I was riveted from the very beginning! There was just enough angst followed by HEA... (but secretly keep hoping Claire is working on spin offs for Everly’s besties, Nora and Hazel). Gotta go pick my next one... thank goodness Claire has several more books to choose from!

Love this grumpy sunshine romance

This is one of my favorite grumpy / sunshine office romances. Everly Dalton has had a rough go of it after a series of disastrous dating mishaps but when her grumpy boss, Shepherd is in need of a fake girlfriend she helps him out. I love the chemistry between these two when they spend more time together out of the office. I love Everly’s friend group and how they are supportive of each other.

This book is one of my favorite narrations from Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke. Emma is great at portraying Everly’s happy, friendly personality and Jason is the perfect amount of grumpy as Shepherd. This one has been a repeat listen for me and on of my favorite books of Claire’s.
