About this listen

Discover what it was really like during, and after, the summer of love - and how one remarkable woman survived it all to remain today as vibrant and rebellious as ever. Grace Slick was the original "great rock diva." As the lead singer of Jefferson Airplane, which produced the classics "White Rabbit" and "Somebody to Love," she was at the forefront of the '60s and '70s counterculture. Now, in her inimitable voice, she offers a revealing portrait of the complex woman behind the rock-outlaw image, and delivers a behind-the-scenes view of rock's grandest stages.©1998 Grace Slick (P)16 9; 1998 Time Warner AudioBooks (Packaging Elements Only), A Division of Time Warner Trade Publishing Entertainment & Celebrities Women Celebrity

The Entertainment Queen

Grace is definitely entertaining. Enjoyed her funny and sarcastic narration and thought the story well written. She fully owns up to her actions. I prefer that kind of honesty over the politically correct B.S.

unbridled wildness and freedom

the way that Grace speaks and writes is super creative and colorful. She reminds us all that there is no perfect cut story to any artist. I love her perception of the way that things went, and I feel like she's at peace with all of it. What a rollercoaster of a ride! Honesty humility is awesome, considering the amount of talent she has

short but entertaining

Grace narrates her life story and is surprisingly funny while doing so. she was and still is a very free spirit.

Okay- Entertaining

Interesting but just barley 4 star material. Not enough detail about musical creation - compared to sexual memoirs. A little uneven. Still worth listening to. Grace is definitely a character! And honest.

I was looking for Grace Slick and found her here

I don't know if she wrote this herself, but the hints throughout point that direction. The narrative has her singular essence. We're about the same age and I'd love to meet her. This might be almost as good as it gets, when it comes to getting inside her...head. There's color & history, but mostly, Grace, thank you for sharing yourself with me.

Ya know what - she’s not that interesting

Sure the stories are “cute”
But this was Not A musical genius. She was a sorta pretty girl with a bit of restlessness - an affinity for altered states and a bit of a voice.

There is no wisdom I found in any of these tales.

Grace - you were iconic. A cool lady. But ya know - looking back - what shocked is now droll.

The woman gave us some good music. She created a persona. Bless her

As for the book . Zzzzzzzz

Frankly - but for the celebrity of the crowd - we can (and some have wink ) all do lots of drugs and sex and music and breaking things. Heck we can all even order strawberries.

Ya know - maybe it’s true what they say -

NEVER MEET YOUR HEROS

Love the book loved the audiobook

My favourite autobiography ever. I'm biased as she's an idol of mine. But I'm so happy to have found it in an audio version as well.
