Outstanding, as always!

Eleven books in and I still can't get enough. Kudos to the narrators, whose skill becomes more and more evident with each volume. Thank you, Diana Knightley, for such an intricate, exciting, engrossing saga.

Awesomeness!

While this book 11 has some points that absolutely pull your heartstrings, it is SO great to feel the way Magnus & Kaitlyn pull together to manage their experiences. I love EVERY book in this series more with each new release, including this one. The drama in the beginning, the 16th century, Lady M’s business, the KIDS, the family stepping up, Hailey & Fraoch, oh myyyyy .... so much good stuff. Can’t wait for 12 to come out on audio ....and then a new stage for this super series. ❤️

My favorite in the series so far

I've listened to this 3 times, so far. I like how Magnus, as he later said, jumped to save Kaitlynn without a parachute. I thought it clearly illustrated how important Kaitlynn is to Magnus and he'd do almost anything to save her. Magnus and his relationship with Kaitlynn both matured markedly in this part of the story.

Son and Thron

These books are fabulous. I hate to mention this however I must. The clan MacDonald is not spelled nor pronounced as McDonald.

Ok I’m still hooked

This book is something of a departure from others in the series in that most of the time Magnus and Kaitlyn are stranded in 16th Century Scotland, away from their friends and family. The author tries and fails to take a deep dive into history, giving readers only a cursory sense of place and politics. Other time travel books (c.f. Outlander, D.O.D.O., and Discovery of Witches) do a much better job of creating historical worlds. But I remain attached to these characters and invested in their story, so onward to Book 12.
