About this listen
The gods are dying. Thane has served his goddess for thousands of lifetimes, but even he knows that time is running out. There's only one way to save her, to save all of Dweller kind, and it's a suicide mission.
The host is a boy named Jakob. His ancient soul is one of the rare sources of power still recycling in the world of flesh. Thane has taken so many souls to his goddess, but this one could save them all.
It's only when Thane learns the truth of the gods does he deny them their power. Souls aren't recycled. They're destroyed, and his goddess isn't a deity...she's a monster.
Permanently melded with his human host, Thane meets his soulmate, a woman who captures his heart like his goddess never did. He'll do anything to protect her, and the gods know it.
Indulge in the riveting new series by international best-selling author A.J. Flowers, full of norse, viking, and greco-roman myth wrapped up in a world of shifters, gods, and magic! Buy Soul Bound today!

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

Story
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Dwellers and souls
This was a unique look at souls and gods and how they exist. Thank had so much to deal with even from the very beginning and Jakob ends up being way more than Thane had ever bargained for. They both have so much to learn and some very hard truths to confront and try to figure out how to deal with these and what they want to do about what they learn. I loved how their connection formed and changed as the book progressed. I want to learn even more about the dwellers along with the gods. There was a huge cliffhanger at the end of this story and I really want to know what is going to happen next. Thane and Jakob need to pick up the pieces and figure out what to do. There were some amazing twists and turns in this story that caught me off guard. I hope to learn more about the magic and souls along with soulmates in this story.

Unique
This book was unique and intriguing. A.J. Flowers does an absolute amazing job with the plot and characters. I could not get enough of this story. As Reuben Corbett fabulously reads this book I began to loose sense in my reality and believed I was in the book world. Just a fantastically written book that pulls you in and hooks you from the start. Definitely recommended!! 💕

Interesting and engaging!
Thane one of the main characters melds his soul with Jacob a young human man in order to save the gods. Thane and Jacob become nearly one over the years as their souls mesh. It turns out Jacob's soul is ancient and somehow the savior that Thane is seeking to save the god's. I enjoyed how Thane and Jacob meshed together. The author did a fantastic job with their characters and dropping enough clues to understand how they are one body and two souls.
I was a bit confused with the ather and how that worked. I love the idea of it but wish the author had given more information on that earlier in the story. Overall, it's an epic journey embarked on by Jacob and Thane. They meet some interesting creatures with plenty of action and adventure. I think the narrator's pacing and voice do the story justice.

Excellent!
Haunting way after I listened to the audio. I had read the book before and it struck me that way but listening and hearing the people come alive was another. I cried in places and laughed also I got mad and felt so much anger at the evil. I enjoyed the narrator I think did a wonderful job and will go back and listen to this one over and over.

Awesome world-building.
This made for a very fun way to spend an afternoon, as I got lost in a very intriguing world. I particularly liked the take on a lot of topics in this one, such as souls, gods and more along those lines, as it made me think quite a bit. It’s also a beautiful, magical world that I felt would be amazing to watch on the screen. Would make a fun couple of movies or miniseries, I expect.
Plan to read on in the series.
4 stars.

This narration was so very good. The story was captivating. I was engrossed from the beginning and could hardly pause the narration to get chores and errands done. I really want to listen to book 2 now but I don’t see an audio out yet. Once it is I need it! I really feel for Thane and Jacob and can’t wait to hear what happens next.

Complex, intriguing, and engaging.
The lore/magic of this world was incredibly foreign and complex to me, but the characters and intricate plot kept me engaged in the story as the lore became clearer and clearer. Its a book that i could listen to again and probably enjoy even more than i did the first time through. Though it could perhaps be found confusing as you enter it's fascinating world, the book demands your attention and keeps you involved as it progresses through its expanding universe. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have left my honest review.

Interesting Fantasy World
Soul Bound is an interesting first installment in a series. It took a little while to get into and accustomed to it, as when it begins you are little confused about what is going on and don't really have an understanding of the world. The book is very fast paced, can be light on detail at times and can gloss over certain things and just expect you to accept others without explaining how the character got to that point or decision. It is entertaining though and has some cool characters and themes with an interesting mix of different god myths. The character(s) of Thane/Jacob are likeable and you definitely root for them and are interested in their arc and progression. I am interested to see where future books in the series go and if the world and story are fleshed out a little more.
The narration by Reuben Corbett is very well done and adds to the enjoyment of the story.
