About this listen

The unforgettable story of Cora and echo from Grimnirs continues in the international best-selling Runes series.

Eighteen-year-old Cora Jemison knows what it's like to date a soul reaper. There are no Friday night movies, no school dances, and no stolen kisses between classes. It totally sucks! What makes it even worse, souls pop up when she least expects it. The last one is not her fault, but it all adds up to zero quality time with her super-hot, scythe-carrying boyfriend, Echo.

Since Cora was etched with special runes by an evil Immortal, she understands why souls are drawn to her. She makes the best of it by helping souls find closure while Echo escorts them to the realm of the dead. Perfect partners - until a dark soul visits Cora in the dead of night, and Echo decides her soul-helping days are over.

Cora can either listen to Echo or follow her instincts. To make matters worse, other reapers start stalking her, demanding she hand over the soul. Even her Valkyrie friends think she's gone too far. But something sinister is coming their way, and the soul is the key to saving her town, her friends, and her relationship with Echo. Can she convince Echo to see things her way before it's too late?

I’m Hooked

I am hooked. I can’t stop listening. The story is quite different from what I normally read/listen to. The author spins a great story and the narrator does a fantastic job with the story

Incredible!!

What did you love best about Souls?

Great book about Cora and her relationship with Echo and her learning to deal with Dark Souls that are after her

What did you like best about this story?

How Cora works to help Echo deal with his issue with Devyn

Have you listened to any of Stephanie Terry’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I've listened to her in Runes and she did a fantastic job narrating in Runes.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can she convince Echo to see things her way before it’s too late?

Any additional comments?

Fantastic book, fantastic narrator. Can't wait to listen to more books with her!

On the edge of my seat.

I am truly loving this series. I find it well written and detailed without being overbearing. Written expertly enough to allow you to stand in the middle of the setting. The story line keeps you wanting more and is so original that you are constantly ask for more information. I love that this series can go in so many directions staying with teens moving to young adults and allowing for an adult story line to open. Kudos to the author.
As to the narrator love the characters she has brought them to life for me. She has also gotten better with each book learning from the reviews. Thanks for that.

Wow

I thought nothing could beat reading an Ednah Walter's book but wow! Stephanie Terry did an amazing job narrating this title.

She brought life into the characters that I love and already felt were real and tangible. The inflection she put into each character and passage was great.

This is still one of my favorite books and I'm happy to say that this was a great intro into Audio books.

I have always been a little hesitant to dive into audio books because I'm an exceptionally fast reader and I was also really nervous that the narrator would ruin the experience for me but I was honestly surprised at how well this turned out.

I listed to the book basically all day and it was not at all inconvenient. It was really interesting actually. I think I may definitely give audio books a legitimate try and I can definitely see myself listening to more books narrated by Stephanie Terry.

changes from the written to the audible

while I gave it a five star across the review I did find that on occasions the name was changed it read Jen and she said Jess and I also found that while it read Cora Mia she kept saying Cora Mio. that confused me.

Best book! Best Audio! Highly recommended!

Fantastic! Captivating! Can't say enough about this series. Read all the books and the audios are just as good, if not better. Same story, yet, I was able to listen and relax feeling convinced I'm in the story itself. Grimnirs, Valkyries, Norn gods, witches, Souls, its all there and I loved it. I loved how the narrator imitated all the accents. Job well done. Souls is #6 in the series and by far one of favorites so far. Don't want to give to much of the story away so I will just say that this series is a must read (or listen) for all ages. You will want to own it to read over again. If you don't like to read, well then this audio will do that for you. You won't regret it.

Love the series

Love the story and the narrator did well even though she mispronounced a few words. I followed along with the book. Some names weren’t the same she read but it wasn’t a big deal.

Loved It!!!!!

I loved having another book from Cora POV. It's great to see how she changes the bad things that have happened to her into something that she uses to help other people. I hope we get to see more of Dev in future books. He has become one of my favorite people in this series. I can't wait until the next book comes out.

An excellent parallel to the main story

Would you consider the audio edition of Souls to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't say that is a better option, maybe more enjoyable. I love read a print book, I love the smell of a book, but listening allows you to just follow the story,

What other book might you compare Souls to and why?

I think the series Nocturne Falls,

Any additional comments?

The book show what happened with Cora while the events of Witches presents us what happened to Rayne and Torn.
