The book is very accessible to a general population audience.
It is not an exhaustive, comprehensive take on the topic like a textbook might be, but instead focused on a few important ideas such as dark matter, or the relationship between super massive black holes and galaxies.
Each chapter covers a different idea. Concepts are explained in an understandable way with relatable metaphors/examples that help explain the underlying idea.
My only criticism is that I wish it were longer — it is engaging enough that I found myself wanting to learn more about the topic being discussed in each chapter, or to have more chapters/concepts to learn about; e.g. the hypothesized planet 9 or dark energy. Perhaps there will be a sequel.
Excellent accessible overview of astronomy
