About this listen

The things of nightmares haunt my dreams. Secrets lurk around every corner. The world I've entered isn't all it seems, but as a newcomer, questioning the Council isn't the safest move. Not when my guys are so entrenched in a world that I find dangerous. As Theo, Hiro, Ryder, Killian, Damien, and I try to find out how we fit together, we must also decide where we stand among the politics, class, and half-truths.

While we each battle with our own demons, the ties that bind us together strain. With the Gala right around the corner and the Council's rules threatening to break up my family, the arrival of a new shifter at our front door adds more stress - and more humor - to our already complicated lives. As everyone struggles to find where loyalties lie, we find that not everybody is who they appear to be. When the secrets around me turn deadly, will I let them break me or will they become my Spark of Intent?

Contains mature themes.

just pay attention

I'm accustomed to one one hit romance/smut novels, as of late i have been branching off, following small series. but holy hell, this is slow burn but the fleshing out of the story has been amazing. you get full world building, social construction, romantic interludes that lead to completion " you know what I mean" action, pain ( considering my past life abuse I will admit some triggers) , but I have been fully blown away with this story and my bank account hates me for it. our male narrator is doing well, some slight tweaks may be considered in the future. a little tone differential between kirian and theo, very close accents but he makes sure to shine through the different personalities. as for our female narrator, the first few books are hard to get through until you grow accustomed to her voice, after awhile or through growth on her part, you do start noticing variations through characters which had been one of her weakest points in the first 2 books. Her voice is very unique, but grows through time. overall im loving this story and will be buying the next installment... sorry wallet, food is for the weak lol

Read this series, don’t listen

Narration:
-Male: does mostly okay. His ‘female voice’ is over the top valley girl sounding. Additionally, one of the male characters is supposed to be Greek yet has an English accent. His other accents (Irish and Australian) are ON POINT!!
-Female: if she ONLY read the female parts, I wouldn’t have a problem with this series. Her male voices are okay … but her accents are SOOOOOOO painfully bad. They are wrong and they are inconsistent.

Story:
I Loooove this series. The characters and their respective relationships develop well, the storyline keeps you engaged and isn’t rushed, and there are great twists. I wish this series could be re-recorded as I feel like the female narration ruined it with the bad accents. If you start listening and can’t handle the narration, READ the series. It’s worth it.

The twist! Yeeeees!

These books are just getting better and better! I see a lot of back lash about the Narrator but trust they have pure talent! Don’t believe me listen to her in the crave series, thank me later!

Read! Don't listen!

The story is amazing! The characters are diverse and fully fleshed out. I absolutely love all the guys. The Male narrator is good, except his female voices are valley girls with up talk which is kind of annoying. The Female narrator is husky like she's got a sore throat however in some parts she sounds like a chipmunk. Mainly when she's doing the female voices and dialogue. it's almost unbearable to listen to. I had to slow the listening speed in order to also prevent choppy, cut off words in the narration. I would highly recommend reading the series, but I wouldn't spend your money on the narration.

WOW

The intensity keeps rising. The plot is wonderful and I’m enjoying the character growth and depth. I loved the last line said in the book. I’m enjoying the story immensely.

Breeding camp for children

This series makes absolutely no sense. When the MC's have an argument over spilled coffee the FMC runs away scared of them...only to decide the only way she can move forward is to prove the paranormal council is corrupted and against them. This jump is so jarring I had to download the book to see I'd there was a missed chapter. Then she sneaks off to break into the main building of allparanormal. She has no experience with anything like this and can barely use her powers but decides she can successfully do this. I just cant read this anymore.

I'm also extremely upset by the FMCs reaction to the argument her men had. One of them lashes out at her by calling her a name (completely out of character for him) and she completely breaks down. She cries and can't be touched and has flashbacks of abuse. From this one argument she completely breaks down and undoes every step they have made in the relationship. I just hate these cop out scenes that force story progression that makes no sense.

Too much inner monolog

Good story, good characters, ok voices, but far too much inner monolog so it makes everything far too long and drug out.
