Favorite Intro/Intermediate Title on the Subject

I give this book high stars because, if a friend were to tell me, "I am interested in setting intentions, manifesting, spell-crafting" or "I'm not brand new to this but would like to find a structure for my practice" --this is the audio book I would recommend. It is not too "basic" but also still totally accessible, in my opinion. It helped me feel less overwhelmed about the subject, helped me realize that there are many avenues for practice and I am free to use those in ways that match my needs, my lifestyle, my schedule, my availability. Additionally, the reader is very easy for me to listen to--I've had to return other books cause I couldn't focus with the reader's delivery, but this reader speaks with ease and sounds natural, letting you just soak in the information. I also particularly like that the author's approach is SO open--you don't have to be religious (in this context, especially read: you don't have to be Wiccan) to resonate with the text, and also if you (like me) pray to a classical western understanding of God (or if you don't), you can still integrate the practices from this book in your spiritual and personal life. It really is one of those titles where you can "take what resonates, leave what does not." By the same token, the author is clearly very serious about the subject--and gives practical cautions and advice through-out, as any writer should. (There's enough fluff on the market, this book has some conviction to it, which is the responsible approach). One suggestion for listeners: take advantage of the "clips and bookmarks" Audible features for this title--you will thank yourself later as this book is a great Audio Reference tool that you will want to refer back to in the future (I'm having to go back thru it now to do this).

Perfection

Perfectly Organized with detail. Ethics included which stand for a lot. Number one respect for the person and the practice.

Great for beginners!

This was very useful for an overview of the basics! I really enjoyed how there was enough detail for clarity, but not too much to be overwhelmed. I also love this narrator.

Practical, Respectful, Beautiful

I truly enjoyed the entire book. the narration was delightful and very pleasant. the advice was practical and presented with a lot of respect that allowed a lot of room for the practitioner. I really appreciated the loving and wise tone of the book that was not overbearing and not too Airy-fairy. I first listened to this book on Audible and now I am ordering the print edition as a great reference.

a book well written and a must for anyone new to the craft, or those that wish a recap on basics. Thoroughly enjoyed the contents as well as the narrator.

A great starting point & refresher

This is not just a great review of the foundational aspects of practical magick, but there are some real gems buried throughout it that are sure to help troubleshoot some of your spells that you just can’t seem to get to work. There were even things within this that I had forgotten and as such had many epiphany moments while reading this book. So even for myself, it was a great refresher.

Surprisingly Logical Presentation

I expected something aimed at 16 year old witch wannabes. To my delight, I found this book logical, practical, and delightfully down-to-earth. it makes clear that spellcrafting is simply another method of manipulating energy, in the same way as done so by Reiki, Aikido, Tai Chi, and so forth. There is no mystical "Woo-woo" involved here.

Oddly (sadly)!Condescending

I found her to be condescending, a beginner would get very discouraged and or an advanced practitioner would want to know what high horse she got off of. Maybe she is gearing her books to young kids. I don’t know but wouldn’t want anyone to be spike to like that. Maybe it would have been better to have read myself. I only got on audible/ had points/most of the time when I do listen to a book/ I get a hard copy. This one didn’t give me that wanting of one . She reminds me of know it obnoxious teacher. Her way or no way. Who gets off on bossing kids around to make her feel better. It’s not encouraging. I don’t know if it’s her tone or the book itself. I may try listening to it again but I don’t know if I can endure. You should find crafting fun and enjoyable not a chore.I like Scott Cunninghams books. You feel Ike a friend is teaching you and he has a sense of humour. usually when I get an audible book; I can’t wait to buy the book. I did not feel that way with this one. Maybe if I read it yourself/ you may like it better. Narrator doesn’t give off any positive vibes. I know she is trying to teach you how to craft your own spells but could do it with more encouraging enthusiasm, & do without the condescending attitude. Any new witch would be discouraged. Negative attitude isn’t how magick works. Your intent and believing in yourself is most important. Take what she says with a grain of salt. I think there is some good things to it and maybe it’s her tone, like she is talking to a misbehaving child ( which I still don’t agree with) positive re enforcement/ is a much better way.. I can’t quite put my finger on the attitude. Maybe the person reading it knows nothing about witchcraft and is really trying to make it sound more mysterious/hard . I personally don’t recommend it. I would like to look at what others wrote or thought about this. I’m very intuitive ever since child. I thought everyone was like but as ai grew up realised a gift but not seeing good in people was hard. I alway like to see the good in people. of sensing people and I do not get that from this book. I don’t know if it’s a combination of what was written & tone used. Maybe a bit of both. Scot Cunninghams books are so much more helpful & he has a sense of humour. Also Bucklands is great if you really want to craft & learn a lot. His is quite regimented but you do not have to be Wiccan to read &’ do everything by the book. Remember spell crafting is all about the intent and what works for you as a practitioner. Believe in yourself and it will all fall into place & work! I’m
Kind of torn to. I felt she knew a lot but the delivery wasn’t my taste and I have thick skin and am a straight shooter. I don’t like auger coating & fluff. I alway keep an open mind & live learning but she could have took a more positive approach.
