Publisher's summary

With friends like these....

An ill-advised encounter at the office party leaves David Greenlake jobless and homeless in one heady weekend. But he quickly begs work from his ex-boss and takes a room in Shamwell with easygoing postman Rory Deamer. David doesn't mean to flirt with the recently divorced Rory - just like he doesn't consciously decide to breathe. After all, Rory's far too nice for him. And far too straight.

Rory finds his new lodger surprisingly fun to be with, and what's more, David is a hit with Rory's troubled children. But while Rory's world may have turned upside down in the last few years, there's one thing he's sure of: he's straight as a die. So he can't be falling for David...can he?

Their friends and family think they know all the answers, and David's office party hookup has his own plans for romance. Rory and David need to make up their minds and take a stand for what they really want - or their love could be over before it's even begun.

Great story with an extra added bonus

I loved the story and the characters. The author must be a fellow geek because every pop culture reference I Understood. Dr. Who. super hero movies. it was a nice change. thank you for a great read

Brilluant!

Wonderfully written. Terribly funny, well rounded, loveable characters. Narration captured each character's nuance. Loved it!

cute and satisfying

A light and sweet alternative to the insta-love, insta-bangs that dominate the m/m offerings in the Escape package. If you like a lot of stolen glances and ~hopeless~ pining, this a good pick.

Probably my favorite in the series

This is the kind of JL Merrow Story I love! One of my all time favorite books ever is Muscling Through and this reminds me of that story – a lot!

While it might be low steam, it’s high on humor and very, very British. Just what I’ve come to expect (and adore) from Merrow.

I think my favorite part is how amazingly happy the HEA is, and how HARD our MCs have to work to get there. It’s a great ride!

Highly Recommended!
(This is absolutely fine as a standalone.)

Audio

As usual Mark Steadman narrates this with his fantastic accent, wonderful comedic sense of timing and a really lovely narrating voice. I’m so pleased Merrow was able to find this narrator and that he’s been able to narrate the entire series!

So Charming!

Completely and utterly charming!

Spun! is the final book in J.L. Merrow's Shamwell Tales series. You can read them out of order, like I did, and a few of the characters pop in here and there, but they are definitely standalones.

I did them all in audio, beautifully performed by Mark Steadman.
