About this listen

New York Admirals captain Scott Hunter takes his pregame rituals very seriously. In this case, it's not just a lucky smoothie he's craving - it's the man who made it.

Pro hockey star Scott Hunter knows a good thing when he sees it. So, when a smoothie made by juice bar barista Kip Grady precedes Scott breaking his on-ice slump, he's desperate to recreate the magic...and to get to know the sexy, funny guy behind the counter.

Kip knew there was more to Scott's frequent visits than blended fruit, but he never let himself imagine being invited back to Scott's penthouse. Or kissed with reckless abandon, never mind touched everywhere all at once. When it happens, it's red-hot, incredible, and frequent, but also only on Scott's terms and always behind his closed apartment doors.

Scott needs Kip in his life, but with playoff season approaching, the spotlight on him is suddenly brighter than ever. He can't afford to do anything that might derail his career...like introducing the world to his boyfriend. Kip is ready to go all-in with Scott - but how much longer will he have to remain a secret?

Tor for the Score

Aural pleasure!

Rachel Reid offers a hea hockey romance. She is a new-to-me author. Wonderful story and ... hot, hot steamy scenes. Nicely done, Rachel.

Tor is fabulous. We all love his velvety baritone. The accent and character changes are so nicely done. Bravo!

Phenomenal Audiobook!

Rachel Reid! I love the story. Few writers can write hockey well. Rachel is phenomenal.

The narration is on point. Tor's voice will make a man or woman blush. Listen and enjoy.

Worst narration ever

First and last time with this narrator. No idea if the story is any good, didn't get past the second chapter.

Great story, but the narrator....

A well-written and very enjoyable story. But the narrator's voice for Kip was awful! For a character from Brooklyn, he sounded more like someone from Boston with a concussion and a speech impediment. I'm only halfway done with the book, but it has been a struggle to get this far because of that voice.

WONDERFULL BOOK... STRANGE NARRATION

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and liked the characters. Initially the narration was slightly off-putting with the narrator's attempt at a Brooklyn accent (I think it was supposed to be Brooklyn accent), however, this minor point gave way to a sweet, engaging story with a happy ending so don't let the narration turn you away... stick with it. You will be glad you did. Loved the two main characters Scott & Kip! Definitely time well spent because sometimes we just need to read (listen to) a feel-good book.

But the Narrator!!!

I haven’t reviewed in a long time but Gosh! I hate it when authors i like hire bad narrators! All of a sudden, Audible has included a bunch of mm titles, which they haven’t done in a while-or at least I haven’t noticed since the old membership that included tons of titles.
Well, as I’m perusing the titles, lots of authors that I enjoy, but only the titles with the terrible narrators are included-this title being one of them. His natural voice is fine-nothing special but the accent for Kip…geez louise! WTH??? He sounds like Ray Donovan meets a 4 year with a mouth full of food. And did anyone else catch him say “hors d’erVERS”?? I rewound just to make sure and yes, he sure did! It’s frustrating how many books I’ve passed on from authors I really like because of bad narrators. I gave Tor Thom 2 ⭐️ for narration. It was a 3 for Scott, but I deducted 1 for Kip.

Not gripping

The narrator’s put-on voice for Kip put me off and I just couldn’t enjoy it from there

sweet story. terrible accent

The story was sweet, if somewhat fantastical. The narrator had a nice voice but should never, ever attempt a Brooklyn accent again.

Love it

Wonderful love story. The narrator did great job just the Kipps’ voice sounds too low to me. But that’s my personal preference. But the love story is OMG!!! So intense. Love it

Series gets better I think…

Admittedly, I started with the couple in the next book and was invested in their part II HEA. Since events unfold in the same world, I thought I’d start at the beginning with this book because this couple seems very supportive of others later on.

Drawback-though not enough to DNF: Narrator Tor had some accent issues with this one. His cadence is what it is so far as I can tell from other audio books but I know he has better consistency with other accents, even in the next book establishing one for Rozanov’s Russian. Kip’s Brooklyn was pretty bumpy for a while, entertaining in it’s own unintentional way I guess.
