Publisher's summary

Start as a RECRUIT...become a SUPER-SOLDIER...end up a GALACTIC WARLORD.

Don your armor, load up on ammo, and get ready for your combat training. You don't become a badass by signing on the dotted line, you gotta earn it the hard way...same goes for your team. You have to learn to fight, how to work together, and how to lose...for the ancient origins of humanity on Earth are dark, devastating, and destined to return. Earth is going to lose, and lose badly when our time is up, but out of the ashes of defeat, we may be able to scrounge up a future if you and the other future warlords can learn how to overcome the losses and turn them to our advantage.

And the one advantage we have is the repository of ancient knowledge left behind when our former masters abandoned Earth during a civil war. They assume everyone died, but a few human slaves remained and now we live only because of that mistake.

But they didn't just make one. Their second was leaving the most heavily defended and valuable building on the planet intact because destroying it along with the others when they bugged out would be too time-consuming. Instead, they buried it and now we have limited access to the advanced technology and database inside. From it we know the truth about our ancestry, as well as the superhuman powers they laced into our genome...and because of those powers, any human not under their direct control carries with them an automatic death sentence.

So when we're found out, we're all going to die...unless you and your team can grow into the war leaders we need, figure out how to use the ancient technology as well as those who created it, and find a way to do the impossible and overcome a galactic empire millions of years old. An empire known as the V'kit'no'sat, which Earth hilariously misinterpreted as a group of extinct animals called the Dinosaurs.

very poor sound quality.

book is great. story great. sound quality beyond poor. sounds like reader is in a bucket. hurt my ears just listening. not sure why the audio quality is so varied. there should be a standard even if working from home.

Enjoyed the “wider look!”

I had a lot of fun with this entertaining addition to the series. Jyr is an amazing writer and plot weaver!

It was interesting to get a look of older empires from the region around Star Force, Voku, Lizards, and even the Skarrons. Older races as in “ancient!” And they had to deal with the idea of, like the ebook title hinted at… creatures that Godzilla would lose to! And that includes the ridiculously colossal version in the three part animated Godzilla show on Netflix…
Creatures that would deserve the idea of something that is “Titanic!”
But my favorite part is still the hints at some ancient and powerful/advanced races. Making you wonder how they would compare to Star Force… the change of the POV from anyone in Star Force or allies, was confusing at first. But it grabbed me almost immediately! So worth the episode away from Star Force in my opinion! It also gives another view of the lizards…
Then we got a glimpse of former Star Force personnel seeking to make something of themselves outside the empire. Creating a mercenary force that still followed a lot of the rules that Star Force held to. Though they didn’t have the tech of Star Force. They still had some from the ADZ that allows them, a long with their training, to be pretty superior to most other mercenary outfits or any other hostile “bad guys” such as pirates. But they find themselves overwhelmed for once…
Which leads into the last episode which is pretty epic. Centering around a favorite of Morgan’s from her Clan Ninja Monkey that we saw back during the war between the Calavari and Nestafar. Now she is a Mage and she has a Padawan. Getting to see them fighting together was epic! Seeing the benefit of the system and how useful Battlemeld can be.

Lastly, I don’t understand why everyone is trashing on the narrator. Maybe it was altered some since they listened to it a few years ago. I enjoyed his performance. Maybe my favorite used for the series so far. Sure there are issues and it isn’t like he is Travis Baldree, Heath Miller or Luke Daniels. But he was still enjoyable. And I will relisten to this when I go back through the series again in a year or few.

love this series but I almos.....

love this series but I almos gave up on it just because the narration on this book was the worst I've ever heard. Maybe his voice would fit something else but the performance on this one was rushed and sounds like a 5th grader reading at a 1st grade level. My apologies but I would love to listen to this book again with someone else narrating it.

TERRIBLE NARRATOR!!

I hate to bash the guy, but he should seek alternative employment. He stumbled over a lot of words, and the editing was non-existent. Lots of background noise(ie horns honking). This whole series has been plagued with horrendous narration, with the exception of one narrator. Whoever picks narrator’s for this series really needs to pay more attention!
