About this listen

I have my senior year planned: keep my head down, don’t make any waves, and get the diploma. I’ve done the popularity thing at Savage River High, but after two years away, I have no interest in reclaiming my crown.

The last time I put myself in the spotlight, I was left in shambles.

Unfortunately, my carefully laid plans go to hell when I grab the attention of dark, forbidding, and brutally hot Sebastian Vega. He looks at me like he wants to kill my puppy or eat me alive. Quite possibly both.

Sebastian is everywhere I go, and he’s decided I’m the twisted game he wants to play, whether I’m a willing participant or not.

The question is...what will I have to lose in order to win?

Author's Note: This is a dark high school bully romance with mature themes and dubious situations that some listeners may find offensive. If you’re looking for a nice guy prince of a hero, this story isn’t for you.

Great story

This was so good I couldn’t stop listening. I only wish that the male narrator would read more than just the epilogue.

Proceed with caution

I cannot stress how much I appreciate when an author warns the reader of triggering content. I knew going in there was an issue of consent, and normally I am that reader that wouldn't even dabble in questionable consent, and I would not finish a book if it got to be too uncomfortable for me. I liked the twist at the end, but even still, this is definitely a book to proceed with caution on if you struggle with non consensual encounters. It's a topic that's never fully dropped throughout the book, and the heroine frequently minds that the hero can, could and has already taken what he wanted regardless of consent. Yet, for some insane reason, not quite as insane as the heroine, I couldn't stop listening the narration is perfect. There is good reason why it's primarily 1 POV, and it really makes sense in the end. If you can get past the trigger, it's a good read.

The Obsession We Seek

Brilliant. The stalker that isn't. The one we want to be wanted by. Lovely performance of a book I couldn't put down. I can't wait to listen to the whole series!!!

Fantastic story

I knew before I started this audio book that it was going to love it and as expected Julia Wolfe did not disappoint. I keep thinking that her writing and story-telling cannot possibly get any better but it does each and every time.

This is a story about Grace Patel and Sebastian Vega, they are 18 year old high school seniors who are both had tragedies in their past. Grace’s tragedies had her leaving her high school and moving to another country with her parents. Two years later another tragedy has Grace and her mother coming back to the US and Grace having to go back to her High School. Grace has changed and is hoping to get thru her senior year but her past has other plans. This book is from Graces POV.

Sebastian Vega is a hot, angry brooding young man who seems to be anywhere Grace happens to be. We do not get Sebatians POV during this story and usually I am not a fan of single POV.s but with this story I am so glad it was written this way, it helped to keep the mystery of Sebastian going.

Sebastiabn and Grace have an instant attraction which Grace tries to avoid, but she is drawn to him much to her annoyance.

Their attraction It isn't straightforward and not without its hiccups but it is a journey as a reader you NEED in your life! Start A Fire is an absolutely fantastic audio book.

This book deals with two scenes of dubious consent (one in the past and one in the present) and may be a trigger for some, just know that Julia Wolfe dealt with the issue in a sensitive manor.

Great Read

Loved this book, loved the narration. Wished they had Bash narration in more chapters than the epilogue. Downloaded the other books after this one.

Why the voice on epilogue

I enjoyed the story the only thing I disliked in my opinion was the male voice that did the epilogue.

Grace and Bash

Light a Fire is broody, sexy, satisfying! I can’t even go into detail because at the moment I’m still unpacking everything I read. Definitely a book I will read again as I look forward to the next in the series!!

Excellent!

Great story...at first you think Grace is crazy for staying with Nate, then it all comes together in the end. Absolutely one of the best!

“You run, I catch. That’s how it works.”

“How can I feel safe with him when he still terrifies me sometimes?”

Start a Fire was captivating bully romance that drew me in from the first word. While dark romance is not my favorite genre, once I started, I couldn’t put this book down. I felt like I lived Bash and Grace’s story.

“You run, I catch. That’s how it works.”

Bash is a bit of a psycho and many of his actions are troubling, but there’s something about him that makes you root for him. He’s instantly drawn to Grace and while his possessiveness is way over the top, it makes sense for this couple. Grace is trying to find herself after losing her father and she finds an unlikely kindred spirit in Bash. He terrifies her yet she finds she can be truly be herself with him.

“Grace, baby, what don’t you understand when I say I am incapable of not loving you? I’m obsessed, but I also wear your tag on every wall of my heart. I’m yours for life.”

The steam these two generate is off the charts. Their banter is electric. Grace consistently challenges Bash and they are both stronger when they are together. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

The audio is narrated by Allie Piper with an appearance by Gideon Frost. Allie was great as Grace and did a good job of bringing her to life. You could hear the emotions in her narration and I enjoyed her performance. Gideon was perfect as Bash and I would loved to hear more from him.
