Publisher's summary

Jonathan Grave pursues two missing teens south of the border - where vengeance awaits....

El Paso, Texas, is a battleground. It's an open market for Mexican drug cartels to sell their wares. It's also a destination for teens looking for fun. Venice Alexander's 14-year-old son Roman was there on a school trip. Now, he and a fellow student have vanished without a trace.

Assuming the kidnapping is retaliation for his past incursions against Mexico's underworld, Jonathan Grave leads his covert operatives to rescue their teammate's son. But the trail Jonathan follows leads him down unexpected paths, where he ends up in the crossfire of a deadly vendetta....

Good story, poor narration

I am not a fan of how the narrator drads out his words. I almost stopped listening.

Another good one

I enjoyed this one. looks like a good setup for the next one as there were a lot of open questions at the end.

One of the best in the series!!!!

I won’t go into much detail about this book, the publisher’s summary is accurate and I don’t want to give away any more.
This is a very good series that can be listened to in any order.
This as with the other books in this series is plot rather than character based. Plenty of nail biting action. This one is based on deals with drug cartels, blackmail, kidnapping, child abduction and trafficking. There’s a whole array of wickedness.
Basil Sands narrates this book excellently. He narrates most of the series and is a perfect fit
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Another winner

I know that the stories in this series have a loose formula. However as soon as I can I grab the latest. I routinely check for any new books by John Gilstrap. You could start the series with this book but do yourself a favor and start with the first one.

Another good one except for one thing

Enjoyed it as always. I do have a quibble though—at the end there is a huge plot development that should set up the next book, but it is completely ignored. I won’t say what it is here, but anyone whose a fan should see it right away.

...Gilstrap shines again in Book13, Jonathan Grave

Audiobook Review - As a fan of John Gilstrap and his Jonathan Grave action-thriller series, Gilstrap will keep me as a fan because he hardly ever disappoints. I absolutely love the Jonathan Grave series and excited about the new Victoria Emerson series. Stealth Attack, Jonathan Grave #13, was a good read, I really enjoyed it! I especially like the artwork on the new book cover which surpasses the artwork on the Scorpion Strike hardcover book. As a hardcover book collector, I really wish the publishers would publish this book as a hardcover. I would purchase it even if the contents were not that good, but fortunately it is a really good story told by a really good author. I love the story of ‘Digger’ and ‘Boxers’ and their hostage (PCs, “Precious Cargo”) rescue business. Gilstrap has done an excellent job of creating and including ‘diverse’ supporting characters in his novels which is key to me as a person of color. I was especially pleased in this story to read about an interracial couple which hits home for me albeit a fiction thriller novel by one of my favorite authors. Although there were a couple of things that pushed the envelope of believability, the story – the kidnapping of Venice’s son and girl classmate from a school field trip in El Paso, Texas and taken into Mexico – it, the storyline held no bars as Grave and his team, including Mama Alexander (the kidnap boy’s grandmother) took it up several notches in getting Venice’s son, Roman and his friend back. Great character development, strong and current events storyline and plenty of action, Stealth Attack is a rock-solid and well-timed isten narrated by Basil Sands who is top-notch!.

Another good one from Gilstrap

As always, Gilstrap delivers on the action, comedy, and characters. You care about these people, and he keeps you on the edge of your seat.

However, the book suffers on audio by a terrible narration.

A Great Escape Read!

Jonathan and his team are on the hunt again. They have to rescue A boy from his school and is the son of one of his top team member. It was exciting and fun to hear their adventures. I wish Jonathan and his team were real or that there are teams who do this kind of work!

I don't like it as much as the first time

I've read a few books by John Gilstrap before. I especially like the ones about Victoria Emerson!

This book was also really good and hard to put down!

*****

This was one of the first Jonathan Graves books that I read. By now I've read them all in order.

I wasn't as impressed this time. It was really crazy of them to not try to get the kidnapped teenagers before they attacked the other place! Jonathan didn't like going to Mexico in the first place because of things they have done in South America before. Why would they advertise that they are there!?

I've been listening to many of the books in this series. Many are still free if you have Audible and/or Kindle unlimited.
