About this listen

They were powerful and ruthless, but they made one mistake. His name is Breed.

Ex-Delta Force sniper Breed has spent most of his life at war and now he's trying to make some time for peace. But when a veteran from his old unit is murdered in El Paso, Breed feels duty-bound to bring the killer to justice. A feeling that only grows stronger when his friend's widow and son are also murdered. As he uses all his specialist skills to uncover the truth, Breed finds himself working with some unlikely allies - a devious CIA operative, and a determined Latina reporter. Together, they uncover a conspiracy to launch a massive attack on US soil. The terrorists are confident – they have powerful friends in the Mexican cartels and US law enforcement. But they have reckoned without one thing — Breed.

Danger Close is the first in the stunning Breed action thriller series. Perfect for fans of Lee Child, Jason Kasper & David Archer.

Great book

First time I’ve read this author and really enjoyed the story and performance. I plan to listen to more in this series.

Great! Violent, but great!

This story really clicked. Moved quickly, found a few original themes.... Not a "hollywood ending", for sure. I have to understand why the narrator doesn't pronounce Fayetteville the way we do in NC. He pronounces it in the traditional French, as in Marquis de Lafayette. Regionally, as any SOTF operator would know, it's pronounced FAY-IT-VILLE. LOL

Exceptional

Wonderful discovery of a new hero! The hard part is waiting for a sequel. Hope Stein returns as well as Breed.

Couldn’t put it down!

This story is very predictable, however, being Ex- military, I was fine with that! The characters were great…narration excellent. Hope to have more from this author.

Good Start

This novel seems to be a good start to a potentially great series. However, I just couldn't get into the 2 book in this series. But if your not interested in listening to a series of books, I'd recommend this one to those of you that like listening to a Thriller/Suspense type of book with Military and Espionage mixed in :^)

OK but not great

Overall I enjoyed the book. There was some good action and excitement. But I got halfway through the book and I thought to myself, I'm not sure I could give a good summary of the plot. So for me, the storyline wasn't super well developed.

Outstanding and impressive read

I was very impressed with Cameron Curtis work. I am a big fan of Jack Carr and Curtis has got my attention, so much so that I’m about to start the next book in the Breed series.

Way better than I expected

I like me some ex-military action heroes... I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The story wasn't bad, the action and weapons details were pretty good. A lot of the military details were more accurate than is often the case from authors who have no military experience.
Narration was well done minus the reader not looking up how to pronounce some of the acronyms. SERE pronounced like Apple's Siri is an example.
Worth the listen! I can't wait for Audible to get more of the books in this series.

Pronunciation?

The book was good, not great. I would listen to others in the series, but if they use the same narrator someone please tell him how to pronounce Fayetteville.
