Disappointing

Terrible narration. could hardly differentiate the characters. No inflection or anything while reading. I barely got past the first chapter, before returning it

Worst narrator ever. Period.

I wanted SO badly to listen to these stories, but I cannot abide Cathy Dobson's overdone, heavy-handed, and extremely irritating narration. She reminds me of someone imitating Norma Desmond from the movie Sunset Boulevard. She manages to be dramatic while maintaining a monotonous and repetitive cadence that continues throughout the entire narrative.

I now buy almost exclusively audio books through Audible, and there are several short story anthologies that I would love to hear; however, I refuse to purchase a single one of them because listening to her voice is comparable to listening to the sound of nails on a chalkboard! Several other reviewers have posted negative, one star reviews due to this narrator. Please Audible, stop using Cathy Dobson. She may be a very nice person to sit and have a chat with, but I will NEVER, EVER again purchase a book she has narrated, as it is waste of time and money. I own over 25 hours of quality short stories by some of my favorite authors that I am completely unable to bear listening to. Too bad I cannot just leave a zero or negative star.......

Grade of D.

The narrator's stylistic choices are grating. The stories themselves are not the authors' best work.
