About this listen

Tina Cahill, newly arrived from the East, is determined to get the saloon in Broken Wheel, Texas, closed for good. To that end, she pickets outside the place every afternoon. Unfortunately, so far no one has paid any attention.

Vince Yates earned the nickname "Invincible Vince" because of his reputation for letting absolutely nothing stop him. Not his tyrant of a father, nor the injuries he suffered in the Civil War, nor the fact that he is Broken Wheel's only attorney and sheriff yet has no law degree. But Vince is about to face his biggest challenge yet: his past has just caught up with him. His father, mother, and the sister he didn't know he had show up in Broken Wheel without warning. His father is still a schemer. His mother is suffering signs of dementia. And his surprise sister immediately falls for one of Vince's best friends.

Vince has a lot of people to take care of, and Tina doesn't approve of how he's handling any of them. But with almost all the other men in town married off, Vince finds himself stuck with feisty Tina over and over again. Of course, Tina is the prettiest woman he's ever seen, so if he could just get her to give up her causes, he might go ahead and propose. But he's got one more surprise coming his way: Tina's picketing at the saloon has revealed a dark secret that could put everyone Vince loves in danger.

A great wrap up

This was a great series and this book, the final in the series, wrapped it up beautifully. Love for all, some mystery, a little drama, and some laughs….I enjoyed this book, all 3 books.

My favorite book by Mary Connealy!

This is undoubtedly my favorite book by Mary Connealy. Tina, (main female character) is my very favorite character in this series. Her feistiness practicly makes this book! I loved Vince as well! It's so entertaining to observe his struggle with not wanting to be with her, yet his undeniable attraction to her (Tina) as well. I loved what Barbara MacCulloh brought to this book, her funny voices. I absolutely loved her! She seems to struggle with making the male voices masculine, but that doesn't turn me off. It's a wonderful read. So heartbreaking to observe Vince's father's cruelty, and his mothers' condition. Such a light-hearted book, despite the slight mystery.

Ended well but Tina character 🙄

This is my least favorite in this trilogy only because for 2/3 of the book the main heroin in infantile stupid and just ridiculous even though she’s supposed to be pretty smart and resourceful. Maybe if she was 16 and an airhead it would track. If this was the first book, I wouldn’t of read any further. I continued on with the book because I was invested and all the other characters in it. In the end Tina finally rounded out a little bit. Still love the author, and like the narrator.

Always enjoyable!

I really look forward to listening to Mary Connealy‘s books. They are a good mix of clean romance, a little suspense, and characters that you look forward to checking in with. The women are strong but so are the men. And it’s good to see the characters change and grow.

Adorable!

What a terrific series. I completely loved all the characters associated with these 4 best guy friends. Tina and Vince's quirky attraction laid out in book 2 began the process of falling in love with them, and this book completed it. What fun!

I did feel a little jipped about Jonas' as I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall for his romance too.

Great conclusion to the trilogy

Tina continues to be her fiery, scolding and annoying self, but mellows out just a touch. She clearly has a very caring heart but lacks self confidence. It’s good to see how all the Regulators come to have happy endings and stick together as one big family. I appreciate that Mary (author) incorporates very relatable family troubles, and not everything is unique to a rustic Texas town. I’m also glad she didn’t shy away from sharing some of the gospel truth. I’m actually surprised no one thought to bring turning to God up sooner in the story because in real life, it’s the best start to approaching anything and everything. But I get that would probably also frighten away some readers. If that’s you, don’t worry. It’s so little mentioned that it’s almost an afterthought. I suspect that’s probably because that’s just how long she wanted Vince to take to realize what he needed to do. Mary penned an entertaining story that’s sure to bring a chuckle or two. I recommend starting with book one and working your way to this third book. Worth the read (or listen).
