Publisher's summary

Beckett's back, but this time he isn't worried about a new tattoo...unless it's a prison tat, that is.

He should have seen this coming; After all, a person can only go around extracting his unique brand of justice for so long without drawing unwanted attention.

Caught between a scalpel and a bedpan, only an unlikely ally can help keep him out of prison. But this will require revealing his true self, including the icky parts that Beckett has never shown to anyone. This also means putting the people he cares for in danger...not just from harm, or potentially the law, but of becoming like him.

Besides, there's barely enough room in this world for one sarcastic, crazy doctor, let alone a second.

Pretty good story but...

First of all, I was not a fan of the narrator's voice. I was in a hurry to download a book before a road trip and didn't listen to the sample. The author refers to Dr. Campbell and Dr. Beckett throughout the book so unless you are familiar with the series, you're not sure if his name is Cambell Beckett or vice versa. Not a deal-breaker, but I question the reason behind the author doing this. I also just didn't care for Dr. Campbell. He came across as cocky and unlikeable. The story is pretty good, but near the end the narration was just getting on my nerves so I bumped up the speed to finish. The author clearly "spills the beans" to Dr. Campell prior to the end so when the book finally ends you will find yourself saying "Well, duh!!" Luckily only 7 hours of time spent.
