About this listen

Losing a guardian is one of life's hardest challenges to face. At the age of 14, I lost my mother to cancer. That early experience of loss and my journey through grief were the first steps towards a lifetime of studying the process of grief in order to guide people through their own difficult journeys....

The advice and support provided in this book were insightful and helpful for anyone going through a difficult time. One part that stood out to me was the emphasis on the importance of journaling during the grieving process. The author explained how writing down one's feelings and emotions can be a therapeutic and cathartic experience, helping to process the loss and come to terms with it. I appreciated the practical and easy-to-follow tips on how to start a grief journal and the many benefits it can bring. The book also offers a variety of exercises and coping skills to help individuals navigate their grief. These exercises not only help with the grieving process but also provide tools for a healthier and more balanced life. I found the variety of coping skills and exercises to be incredibly helpful and empowering.

This grief recovery workbook is a comprehensive, step-by-step guide for teens dealing with the death of a loved one. The book is well-organized and easy to follow. It offers practical exercises and strategies that effectively deal with the grief process. I highly recommend this book to individuals and groups. The great thing about it is that it doesn't try to force readers into a particular way of dealing with loss. Instead, the author offers different coping methods and allows them to find the one that works best for them. The exercises are practical, giving readers tools and strategies they can use immediately in their healing process.

What a powerful book on how to deal with a loss of a loved one. It is hard to imagine the level of pain and hurt one goes through losing a loved one, especially at such a young age.

The author did an outstanding job in outlining key grief recovery tools and techniques one can start using straight away and guiding readers through the healing process in a compassionate and understanding way.

While it is geared toward teens I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling with the loss of someone close to them.
