About this listen

Although Summer and Misa secretly share the same family curse, each handles it differently. And then, one rainy night at a family reunion, an argument and an accident trigger a chain reaction that unravels years of family secrets and misunderstandings.

Norma L. Jarrett pens this inspirational Essence Book Club Pick about two feuding sisters who struggle to reconcile differences and renew their faith in God.

This book was great. The spiritual aspect and Summer's relationship with God was truly uplifting and encouraging. I think all would enjoy this book. It has twists and turns where you are not sure where it is going next. I liked it and would recommend it. It was like one of those novels you didn't want to put down!

Great Book - Inspirational

The story was ok...nothing too exciting. Lots of Christianeese- not realistic in my opinion. Liked her other stories better.

Ok, not really exciting

I love how the author used flash backs as a mechanism to inform the audience.

Now and then.. A family's story.

I really enjoyed this book. It took me a while to get used to the narrator's style, but once I did, I really got into the book. The story line is interesting and the characters are well-drawn. I found myself chuckling at certain parts of the book and my heart warmed in others. A great read.

This story begins slow to.vuild up the characters, there are twists and turns that reminded me of life. We plan our lives one way and God has other plans. It also told a story of brokenness and restoration, and healing. Southern families are filled with secrets, lies and status by, which can ruin lives, especially when learned after someone passes. I'm glad the family was restored, and the sisters mended their relationship. Well written and narrated!!!
