About this listen

Theodosia Browning’s dear friend, Delaine Dish, has asked her to be a bridesmaid for her wedding. But when the big day arrives, everything seems to be going wrong. First, a massive storm is brewing over Charleston. A bad omen? Second, Delaine’s maid of honor is late for the ceremony. And finally, the groom not only has cold feet—his whole body is cold. A murderer has crashed the wedding. As Theodosia comforts a devastated Delaine, she needs to sort out the suspects on the groom’s side from the suspects on the bride’s side. One thing soon becomes apparent—revenge won’t be the only dish served cold at this wedding. And if Theodosia doesn’t watch her step, a cold-blooded killer may have a rude reception in store for her…

Absolutely love this series!

This is my favorite female lead murder mystery series. Love all of the tea, bakery & southern charm she brings into her books. Theo is a very interesting independent character.
Someone wrote in a review that these books are unrealistic bc civilians can’t get involved in investigations. Well of course they can’t!
These are fiction books! You should read these books to escape and find some entertainment, not to see how close they are to reality.
Best books!

Laura Child's strikes again.

Laura Childs can be relied upon to craft a twisty plot and surprise you on the ending. This series also exposes you to teas you've never heard of. It's a education wrapped inside a murder mystery.

If you were to listen to this in a group I suggest shots for every time Theodosia is said...you will need an Uber by chapter 5

Story and narrator are satisfyingly wonderful

I've always loved to read the tea shop mysteries by Laura Childs. Now, when I listen to them as audio books the characters seem like old friends. Barbara McCulloh's narration of this novel is not only spot on but very lovely. Ms. McCulloh has developed the voices for each character so well and, to me, it always seems like magic how the really good narrators weave in an out of each voice with such ease, as she does here. I thoroughly enjoyed this production and look forward to many more.

The characters!

The story.was truly spellbinding! I enjoyed it immensely! I do however think you should give the main character a different name.

Voice

Voice sounds too old and makes theo sound silly and dumber than when you read the book.

Least Favorite book.

I was tired of the main protagonist jumping through hoops. Not sure if I will continue with this series. I love the cackleberry series.

Couldn’t listen, really difficult listen to narration

Poor narration, it made me anxious to listen to it. Really do not recommend it.
