About this listen

Jack Perkins can both glimpse the future and travel into the past. With his incredible gifts he could have it all, but all he wants is Cadence, the girl he's about to marry. As she walks down the aisle, Jack has a disturbing vision of Cadence dying in childbirth. In a panic, he loses control of his powers, freezing time and unlocking a realm called Sylum where others of his kind have formed a society. He leaves his paused life, only to discover Cadence is also in Sylum, kidnapped and brainwashed by a powerful telepath who wants to exploit Jack's powers in her quest to rule the world. But even if Jack battles to rescue his bride from the telepath's compound, he still has to change her fate - because Cadence is pregnant.

I think Miss Berry needs to be able to write more books that are similar because she is a good writer and I would like to see her on the best seller list.

You just thought you were free.

The author created a very realistic world & populated it with characters you could really care about, & the narrator did a top-notch job.
A very pleasurable listening experience.

Not your Typical Alternate World Story

Book was not what I was expecting. It was so much better.
Many people believe they are different and therefore alone. This story brings that home. Lots of life choices and how we deal with them make us who we are.
This story almost had a LitRPG feel to it. Step out of one world into another. And come back again when you want.

Highly recommend this story.

At first the narrator really put me off. Started out slowly and drawn out. Kept going and suddenly didn't notice the narrator. Was drawn into the story. Forgot all about the slow narration. Don't know if he picked up the pace or if I just stopped noticing.

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
