Dear Lord! Don't drink while listening!

Full disclosure, I'd already read bits of this as part of other books and I think I read this collection the day it came out in print. Adding Ryan West's voice to the mix only made it ten times better! I love his Ian. This book gives glimpses into the Taggert's lives from when Ian first met Charlie all the way though a future take on what (or who) Kenzie is up to as an adult operative. No, I didn't spoil that career path for you because if you didn't see that coming, you haven't been paying attention.

It took me longer to listen because I kept setting bookmarks to go back to my favorite moments. The instructions to the dog at Remi's house... the discussion between Ian and Charlie about who's fault it is that the girls are the way they are...the Emmet Smith run... so so many moments and every one of them enough to make laugh so hard that getting away with listening in public is impossible!

I love Lexi Blake and this collection was the perfect birthday present for me. Between this and the new J. R. Ward book, my November is perfect!

I'm also using my reviews to bring attention to the publisher's new big idea of using A.I. to voice our books so that they don't have to pay narrators because of course they are. I blame Henry Ford for this nonsense of constantly trying to find a way to NOT pay people but it is what it is. We as consumers are the only thing stopping the vultures from destroying hard earned careers. The voice actors that narrate our stories bring those stories to life. Do we always love their accents, timing, personalities or other aspects of their performance? Of course not. But I'd rather get on here and gripe about the narrator sounding like a fifty year old saloon Madame than know the work was spewed out by some Alexa or Siri. I'd also like to know that the voice being used wasn't obtained by the estate of some actor who's family is selling usage of their voice post mortem. If they want to use this tech, then use it for more realistic interactive software for the vision impaired.

Anyway, this title is soooooooo worth your credit! It's fun and entertaining and ridiculously hilarious! Thank you Lexi Blake for this bundle of perfection!

I love those Taggarts

I love anything from Lexi Blake but especially anything with Ian. This book is a wonderful compilation of important moments in Ian and Charlotte relationship. I laughed and Cried and begged for more. It is truly an amazing look into my favorite fictional family ever. And of course Ryan West is always amazing. He is the voice I hear in my head when I read Ian.
